Second Floor Common Room; Sunday Evening, 7 pm on: Tannim's Birthday!

Off on the third floor of Sunset Towers, beside Lake Michigan, in Westingtown, Wisconson, socialite and party planner extrodinair Grace Windsor Wexler might have felt a strange, sudden pang of pride for her youngest daughter.

Turtle had prepared the common room for Tannim's birthday party with a discretely tasteful collection of decorations, a snack spread perfect of any event of this sort, and a great selection of bad, cheesy horror films. Now it was just a matter of people arriving to enjoy it, especially the birthday boy.

Oh, and one other thing, in light of the recent academic of wee-tiny adults. She placed a sign outside the common room:

And, being only a two years (and eleven months) shy of twelve herself, she knew that was just asking for the kids to flock. So she hired out the big Mexican kid to act as bouncer.

The big Mexican needed money after Valentine's Day set him back a bit, so he was happy to take the job as bouncer to keep the little kids out of the room.

Besides. Cute little kids. He'd get to play with them some more.

And there was a good chance they wouldn't have to try hard to get past him, either.

Emma was starting to feel sleepy, so she headed for the place she'd slept the night before. Maybe Jack would come tuck her in again? She walked up to the door. But, there was someone blocking it... She tilted her head way, way back. "Hi?"

Along with her (http://www.southernpoliceequipment.com/product107.html) gifts (http://www.betsyann.com/pl/pages/store/details.html?hc=1;product_id=5123) and a $25 gift certificate to Turtle & Canary, there was a card informing Tannim that she could be working on starting up the new register system at the store right now but was instead here to celebrate his birthday. The compliments just didn't stop rolling in with this girl.

And the chocolates had nothing to do with trying clear out seasonal inventory, realllllly.

Billy didn't know what kinda stuff Tannim liked, so he'd gotten one of those gift cards that can be used anywhere, worth 30 dollars.

Ami had never met Tannim but after an entire weekend hiding in her room, she emerged in the hopes no one saw her Friday night. She brought along a gift card to Amazon.com

Aiden doesn't have a present. She does have a few leftover bugs-inna-pot from her payback on Jarod earlier.

So she quietly puts them on the table instead. Maybe the Birthday boy will like them.

There are chips, sodas, pretzels, cookies, little finger sammiches, and, of course, a cake (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/BirthdayCake.jpg). All served with Westing Paper Product paper plates, with Westing Paper Product napkins and Westing Paper Product cups.

There were no Westing Paper Product utinsils, though. Westing never quite did get a hang of the whole paper cutlery thing.

And, yes, the cake still said Ralph. Turtle thought it was funny.

This doesn't stop her from curling up on the end of the sofa, and going to sleep there instead. She's not fussy, really.
