Second Floor Common Room; Sunday Evening, 7 pm on: Tannim's Birthday!

Off on the third floor of Sunset Towers, beside Lake Michigan, in Westingtown, Wisconson, socialite and party planner extrodinair Grace Windsor Wexler might have felt a strange, sudden pang of pride for her youngest daughter.

Turtle had prepared the common room for Tannim's birthday party with a discretely tasteful collection of decorations, a snack spread perfect of any event of this sort, and a great selection of bad, cheesy horror films. Now it was just a matter of people arriving to enjoy it, especially the birthday boy.

Oh, and one other thing, in light of the recent academic of wee-tiny adults. She placed a sign outside the common room:

Tannim Drake's Birthday Party! Here!
Food, fun, and bad horror movies!

(Sponsered by Turtle & Canary, for all your shopping needs)
These movies are too scary for little kids!
No one under the age of twelve admitted!

And, being only a two years (and eleven months) shy of twelve herself, she knew that was just asking for the kids to flock. So she hired out the big Mexican kid to act as bouncer.

[[ yay, birthday! Please wait for OCD ROCK ON! ]]

"Didn't say you were," Chad winced at the increase in volume. "But I can't do that." 'Cause then Turtle wouldn't pay him, and Turtle was going to pay him a lot.

Wade stomped on Chad's foot. "I'm gonna get Allison to have you arrested! LET ME IN! TURTLE! TURTLE!"

Wade pointed an accusatory finger at Chad. "He wouldn't let me in!"

Wade scowled up at Turtle. "I wanted to see my friend Turtle, but you're just like him!" He pointed at poor Chad again.

"My name's Wade, you big jerk," He replied, pouting up at Turtle.

"Because I wanted to see you an' an' you! You don't want to see me! I WANT MY TURTLE BACK." Wade looked dangerously close to crying, but was quickly turning sadness into rage. More manly that way.

"Then you don't hate me?" Wade asked.

Bipolar? Wade? Surely you jest!

He bounced happily. "'Kay! Me an' Allison are gonna take over town, wanna help?"

Wade pouted. "Tomorrow?"

Wade cheered and went to give Turtle a hug before realizing that only babies hugged so he put out his hand for a handshake.

"She's the sheriff an' the coolest girl ever!" He leaned forward to confide in Turtle. "She let me have a squirt gun an' didn't charge me."

"Nuh-uh!" Wade flailed. "She's just a friend!"

"Yeah, but 's not like that!" Wade protested.
