Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening (starting at 7:30 FHT)

Conner sprawled out on the couch, scowling at his cell phone as if he expected to be able to intimidate it into ringing. He still hadn't seen or heard back from Lana, which was starting to worry him; trying to convince himself that he was being paranoid was kind of difficult.

In an attempt to distract himself from worrying into a panic, he turned on the TV and started flipping through channels until -- wait, what?!? "No freaking way, he muttered, and turned the volume up just in time to hear . . .

"Coming up right after this, don't miss the hourlong world premiere of Relic Hunters Adventure Squad, the brand new series based on the true adventures of the Overdrive Power Rangers!"

"Hi there, what, excuse me?!?" sputtered Conner, sitting bolt upright and staring at the TV. "Overdrive, what? Who are these guys?" From the tone of his voice, you'd think he thought they were imposters or something.

"Yeah, he was going to be camping out right here for the next hour and a half, because this he had to see.

[OOC: Yes, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive premieres tonight, so I just couldn't help myself. Relic Hunters Adventure Squad is gonna be the meta for both OO and Boukenger; thanks to blessed_twice and untouchableskin for helping me come up with meta character names. The top thread is for certain people who know who they are, but otherwise wide open, as common rooms are!]

Tori was planning on going for a walk outside, but she had decided to peek into the common room to see if anyone was around beforehand.

Spotting Conner, Tori smiled. "Hey." And then she noticed the look on his face. She glanced at the television, wondering what had made him have that reaction. "Uh..." Yep, no words.

This station was promo-ing the hell out of the show, and it didn't even start for another fifteen minutes.

Conner looked up from the promo that was currently running on the screen and pointed one shaking finger at the TV as he gaped at Tori. "I. Have. Never. Heard. Of. These. Guys."

Tori blinked and shook her head at the television. She really had no words, whatsoever.

She managed to stop staring at the TV long enough, to give Conner an answer. "Dude, me either. Who are they?!" And it was back to staring.

"It's supposed to start as soon as this show's over," Conner said. "How come I've never heard of them? This is so not fair."

He slumped further into the couch and added, "Dude, the red guy better not be a total letdown or I'm gonna be pissed."

"Oh. I wonder what they're like." Tori remarked, somewhat curious. "I've never heard of them, either. Maybe Cam has?"

She wondered about that and took the seat next to Conner. "I wonder if there will be a female blue ranger again." She liked that idea. "I'm sure he won't be a letdown." Hey, she was trying to be optimistic.

"Well, there's a pink one at least," Conner noted. "Looks like they're starting out with five. How come everybody else had a starting team of five but me?"

"Thank goodness I wasn't chosen to be the pink one." Tori sighed in relief. She took pride in being the only girl and was extremely happy she hadn't been made to wear pink.

"Five? I guess five is the standard team number." Tori grinned slightly. She raised her hand slightly. "I didn't have five, either. Three, just like you."

"I had five in the end," Conner said with a shrug. "Just, you know, not to start. How much do you wanna bet they're gonna get a sixth one about five or six episodes in?"

Bridge was, coincidentally, up on the third floor because he's actually *looking* for Conner.

"Relic Hunters Adventure Squad," Conner says dubiously. "Some new show from New Zealand based on Power Rangers I've never heard of. You're from the future. Have you heard of the Overdrive Rangers?"

"Uh," Bridge frowns in thought. "Not much? We'd be covering them this year in History classes, I think."

Which meant a few months from now Bridge could probably expect a good-sized email from Sky containing very, very detailed notes on the subject. Sky's helpful like that.

Bridge... takes Conner's advice literally, for some reason, grabbing on to the arm of the couch and eyeing the TV warily.

Z walked into the common room, looking for something to do, and saw Conner. "Oh, hey, what's--what is that nonsense?" she finished, pointing at the TV.

"Some new show from New Zealand," Conner said, very wide eyes fixed on the TV. "Supposedly based on Power Rangers I've never heard of. If the red guy turns out to be a huge dork I'm going to be really annoyed."

"Don't be ridiculous," Z said as she flopped down on the couch. "The red guy's always a huge dork." Then she realized what she'd just said. "I mean...um. I don't know what I mean."

Luckily Z was spared any further flailage when 8:00 hit and the announcer onscreen said, "And now, the world premiere of Relic Hunters Adventure Squad!"

"Oh, dude, it's getting started."
