Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening (starting at 7:30 FHT)

Conner sprawled out on the couch, scowling at his cell phone as if he expected to be able to intimidate it into ringing. He still hadn't seen or heard back from Lana, which was starting to worry him; trying to convince himself that he was being paranoid was kind of difficult.

In an attempt to distract himself from worrying into a panic, he turned on the TV and started flipping through channels until -- wait, what?!? "No freaking way, he muttered, and turned the volume up just in time to hear . . .

"Coming up right after this, don't miss the hourlong world premiere of Relic Hunters Adventure Squad, the brand new series based on the true adventures of the Overdrive Power Rangers!"

"Hi there, what, excuse me?!?" sputtered Conner, sitting bolt upright and staring at the TV. "Overdrive, what? Who are these guys?" From the tone of his voice, you'd think he thought they were imposters or something.

"Yeah, he was going to be camping out right here for the next hour and a half, because this he had to see.

[OOC: Yes, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive premieres tonight, so I just couldn't help myself. Relic Hunters Adventure Squad is gonna be the meta for both OO and Boukenger; thanks to

untouchableskin for helping me come up with meta character names. The top thread is for certain people who know who they are, but otherwise wide open, as common rooms are!]

"Six for me." Tori remarked. "Same here." She smiled lightly. "Oh definitely. I wonder what color they'll turn out to be."

"I'd know if they showed all five of them in the same promo," complained Conner. "I've seen blue, red -- 'cause there's always red, duh -- and pink so far."

"Seriously. Why won't they do that?" Tori didn't understand. "There's probably a yellow ranger. I'm not sure about the other two, though."

Conner grinned. "Well, safe to say we're never gonna see, like, purple except in bad fanfic."

Tori laughed. "Oh man, could you imagine?" She didn't want to think about that.

Conner shuddered. "It's tame as far as some fanfic I've seen, trust me."

"Do I really want to know?" Tori grimaced.

Conner shook his head so violently it looked like it might come off. "Absolutely not."

Tori noted Conner's reaction. "Must be really horrible, then."

And that was about when the show started.

". . . not as horrible as that theme song."

Tori gawked at the television, wondering if her ears were suddenly bleeding.

"Oh good God... can we please ~~kill~~ ~~maim~~ ~~beat~~ knock some sense into whoever approved this... monstrosity?"

Conner was rolling on the floor whimpering, which was probably a good sign that yes, he was in favor of doing bodily harm to whoever gave the go-ahead to that theme song.

Tori had taken to covering her ears, once she realized they hadn't been harmed... yet.

She took note of Conner's reaction and winced. Looking back at the television, she just couldn't believe what she had been hearing. "Seriously, someone put them out of their misery, now."

[OOC: Hahaha, I lowered the volume on my TV when the theme started. *shudders*]

Conner ~~took a cue from the OOC note and~~ scrambled for the remote to turn the volume down. "Okay, I like the compass logo thingie. But I cannot believe they named the red guy O'Reilly."

"Thanks." Tori just shook her head at the television. "The logo is pretty cool, I have to admit." She agreed. "How do they come up with these names, honestly? Tell and Kahn?"

"Our real names are much cooler," Conner said, shaking his head sadly. "Oh, look, they named the Pink Ranger after a flower. A pink flower."

Obviously he hadn't met the Mystical Artifacts teacher.

But then, none of them had any idea about her anyway.

"Oh, definitely." Tori agreed. She honestly couldn't believe what she was watching. "Wow, what a stretch. That must have been hard for the writers to come up with." She visibly facepalmed and groaned.

"Bobbi's cute, though," Conner said. "I could live with muting this theme song to check her out every week."

He scrambled back up onto the couch. "I love it when the Yellow Ranger's hot."

Tori shook her head in amusement. "I think muting the theme is a necessity." She laughed.

"Do you?" She smirked. This was too funny.

"She's a race car driver," Conner said dreamily. "How can you not love that?"

"A race car driver. Sounds like an exciting career to have." Tori mused. "It's very cool." She admitted, with a smile.

"Dude, they got recruited! With cool high-tech hologram-thingies!" Conner exclaimed. "I had to get detention and fall into a cave to get my powers!"

"Wow. Those gadgets were awesome!" Tori was in awe. "I stopped to help an elderly couple change their flat tire, even though Shane was against it. Made us late for our training, thankfully."

"Thankfully? Oh, right, the Academy got trashed," Conner said.

Then stared. "HEY! HE STOLE MY SHIRT!"

"That it did." Tori nodded.

She also stared at the television. "Dude, low blow. How do they do that?" Tori was bewildered beyond belief.
