Lobby: All Day

Posters had whee handwavily gone up in the dorms and town announcing two Student Council sponsored events during Spring Break.  The first being Free Coffee Day on Wednesday, and the second, an Ice Carnival all day Thursday.

When people came down to the lobby on Wednesday, it looked like a set from the coffee shop in Buddies had moved in.  In reality, the Perk had set up a second branch in the lobby and the beringed barista was there to provide coffee, coffee drinks (and tea and hot chocolate for the philistines who didn't appreciate coffee) as well as soup, sandwiches, pastries, anything a hungry Spring Break student could need.

The couches have all been moved into "conversation groupings" with funny lamps on wee tables providing light.  There's a mix of reading material from terribly pretentious to comic books and just about any board or card game you could mod imagine.

"I'm so sorry," she said gently. "I wish there was something I could do."

"You can. Your head is working better then mine. What do all the people affected have in common?"

"So far what I know is that there is loss of memory, abuse, dehydration..." It all pointed to one thing to Annette, but then she could blame tv for her thought process too. Still..

"Surgical procedures too" Ami said, remembering Billy mentioning the holes in his head.

That made Annette shudder. "Ami, do you think anything about what it could be?"

"I am not sure. That bright light you saw, it makes me think of the transporter on Galaxy Quest, but that is just a television show, right?"

Annette twisted her lips. "Yeah, it's just a show. But, Ami, have you considered the possibility yet?"

"That a starship picked us up to take us on adventures to the Final Frontier? Not sure it is likely..." Ami had never watched the Z-Files.

"I think it might be more likely than not, Ami. The vanishing and the light, what I saw. There's just no explanation."

"What?" Ami was confused. "You think we went up to a starship? But on Galaxy Quest they can't interfere and they are all nice..."

"I don't know...I just think it could be a possibility. In a situation such as this, I don't think it would be a good idea to set restrictions on anything." She tried to sound sympathetic and encouraging at the same time. "Galaxy Quest is just a bunch of actors."

"That is true, it is Fandom. So, evil people on spaceships then?" It just sounded so... weird.

Annette gave her a tiny shrug. "I just don't know, Ami. Someone has got to know something. Or hopefully one of you will start remembering and can at least know what happened and who took you."

"One can only hope" Ami said with a sigh...

"I know. It might actually help to get everyone together that this happened to, when possible, and discuss it."

"Oh that is a good idea... Maybe later tonight?"

"Lana is still in the clinic," she said sadly. "And Liz. But the rest of you could get together and talk about it and just compare each others situation."
