Lobby: All Day

Posters had whee handwavily gone up in the dorms and town announcing two Student Council sponsored events during Spring Break.  The first being Free Coffee Day on Wednesday, and the second, an Ice Carnival all day Thursday.

When people came down to the lobby on Wednesday, it looked like a set from the coffee shop in Buddies had moved in.  In reality, the Perk had set up a second branch in the lobby and the beringed barista was there to provide coffee, coffee drinks (and tea and hot chocolate for the philistines who didn't appreciate coffee) as well as soup, sandwiches, pastries, anything a hungry Spring Break student could need.

The couches have all been moved into "conversation groupings" with funny lamps on wee tables providing light.  There's a mix of reading material from terribly pretentious to comic books and just about any board or card game you could mod imagine.

"I think . . ." Anders was just as bright a shade of red as Isabel was. "I think I've been slacking off on keeping up with what's going on in the offseason. I've been kind of, um, busy . . ."

With things that kind of veered the subject right back into Awkwardville.

"With classes," she said, her eyes pleading work with me here!. "Lots of class work and studying."

"Yeah," Anders said, nodding with desperate determination. "Studying. Lots of studying. Really . . . intense studying."

"Well I think since you'be been studying so hard, you do need a break," Isabel grinned. "We're going to have find something sports related on one of these days and just veg on a couch with popcorn and watch. I probably won't have a clue, but I'll watch anyway."

"Oh, hey, here's a crazy idea," Anders said. "We could always watch something you want to watch!"

"You'd sit through a cheesy chick flick for me?" she smiled. "That's really going above and beyond the call."

"I am a good little brother, what can I say?" Anders shrugged. "Besides, I watched them with Willow and ate ice cream, once. It was fun."

"The best little brother," Isabel said. "I think I can manage to find a halfway decent movie and some ice cream. We'll have to do it soon."

"Soon?" echoed Anders. "Why soon?"

"Because it's break! And it's time for relaxing with movies and having fun," she said. "Besides, watching movies with me will keep you away from the evil black space vodka and out of trouble."

"Yeah, I gotta agree with that," Anders said. "Wyatt's supposed to make me watch more about King Arthur, but he's off hanging out with his roommate and Chris in another state for the next few days, I think. And Bridge could use a break from being the one to keep me out of trouble."

"Gah! No King Arthur!" Isabel frowned. "That whole story is depressing. How about some Three Muskateers? Especially the version with Keifer Sutherland."

"Are there swordfights?" Anders asked hopefully. "'cause I don't care how depressing the story is if there are swordfights."

"Lots of swordfights," she promised. "And snark! I think you'll like it a lot. How about Sunday afternoon? We can be slug-like and watch movies and eat ice cream all afternoon?"

"That sounds perfect," Anders said. "Best way to end break before classes start again. What kind of ice cream do you want? I'll buy."

"Chocolate of course," Isabel grinned. "And I'll supply my own tabasco sauce. But yeah, it'll be fun. I'm looking forward to it."

Anders couldn't suppress a brief nosewrinkle at the mention of the tabasco. "I'll stick with chocolate syrup myself, but okay. Chocolate it is. Your room or mine?"

"Mine. I've got all that space since they never stuck anyone back in the room after Xander left," she said.

"Meaning I might actually have to venture past my own floor for a reason that doesn't involve me getting into trouble." Anders tried to fix up his hair where she'd ruffled it, and grinned slightly. "I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked."

"New experiences are good for you," Isabel laughed. "Besides, I'm worth the extra two flights of stairs."

"You definitely are," Anders told her. "And that's why you're my big sister."
