"Hey, Zero," Anders said, fishing a pen out of his pocket. "I'm not feeling too strongly about the whole thing one way or the other, but hey, lollipops."

"You don't feel too strongly about someone dragging someone else's deepest, darkest secrets out for the whole world to see without their knowledge or consent?" Zero had some paparazzi issues. Too bad it wasn't ten years in the future, or Sam probably would too!

"Well . . ." Anders's eyes darted from side to side quickly, as if he was wondering if it was too late to run away and avoid this conversation. "Okay, when you put it that way, yeah. I mean, I can't exactly throw stones here."

Zero decided to have mercy. "Sign the petition, Daisy. What color lolly d'you want?"

Anders considered for a moment. "Orange," he decided as he scrawled his carefully practiced autograph on the petition. He'd run out of vitamin C supplements, and this was sort of close. Sort of.

Zero was pretty sure the lollipop contained no actual fruit of any kind, but she held it out toward Daisy, then thought better of it and pulled the sucker back as a hostage. "While I've got you here, what've you been up to lately? I feel like we never talk."

"Hey," Anders objected, making grabby motions at the lollipop, actual fruit content or not. He shrugged. "Not a whole lot, I guess. Watched a movie with Wyatt the other day, and that was about the last big exciting thing I did."

Which of course wasn't to say that it was the last big exciting thing he'd experienced, but hey, not his information to give out.

And that was so sadly boring Zero took mercy and gave him his lollipop. "We've got to get you a life, Daisy."

Anders didn't waste any time unwrapping the lollipop, and looked at her apprehensively with the stick poking out of his mouth. "I dunno. Bad things happen when I have a life."

"We need to get you a good life," Zero amended.

Anders sighed indulgently. "Can we get one on eBay?"

"I don't think they sell those on eBay," Zero said. "We could try Craigslist?"

". . . who's Craig?"

Anders had gotten much better versed in the ways of the Internet, but secondhand online shopping was not exactly one of his areas of focus.

"You know, I'm not sure. But he has a list!"

"Are you on the list? Of what? Lives for sale? You realize you can buy anything on the Internet and that sounds kind of creepy, right?"

"I think it's apartments an' jobs an' couches an' things, but they might have a life for sale," Zero said hopefully. "Hey, s'not like I'm tryin' to buy a kidney!"

"I don't even know why you'd want to -- no, not going there," Anders replied. "But hey, if you can find me a Playstation 3 while you're at it . . ."

"It could happen," Zero said defensively. "I said a life, Daisy. Playstation 3s are fun, but they are not substitutes for friends and bar fights--I mean. Good clean wholesome fun."

"Awwww!" Anders pouted at her for just a second, then smiled. "That bar fight was kinda fun, wasn't it?"

Zero grinned back at him. "It really was."

"You saying you think I should get arrested more often, Hopeless-Savage?"

"I'm not saying that at all, alien boy," Zero said. "The trick is to get in a brawl and not get arrested. S'called slipping out the back. Although, my parents raised me to save it for mosh pits and parking lots, but pshh. Rules."

Anders snorted and waved a hand dismissively. "I save my rules for the Pyramid court. How come you got the fun bringing-up?"

Zero grinned impishly. "My parents were punk rock stars, remember?"

"I feel so cheated," Anders teased. "It's not too late to learn at my age, is it?"
