Cthulhu Campfire, Tuesday Afternoon (After Workshops)

Sam wasn't used to not having classes every day, and not having to worry about his workshops until tomorrow was making him feel weird. So, he went out by the campfire to get some fresh air and read one of the books he'd gotten for his birthday.

"You haven't heard the morning announcements? Random Fandom weirdness strikes," she explained. "Especially for the newbies I guess. But books are acting like chickens. I've got the first three of Angelica books clucking about my alcove. Annie thinks they're the best cat toys ever."

Dawn started giggling, "Are they laying novellas? Ooo, or maybe haiku?"

Isabel shuddered. "I don't know how they're managing to do it. But they are laying eggs. I haven't had the guts to crack one open though. But they could contain parts of a novel I suppose."

"Sometimes I love this place. Giles would have a canary," she said, still giggling.

"Don't you mean a chicken?" she asked. "Given all his books. But still, it's a nice, relatively harmless introduction to the weirdness for the newbies. Much better then gremlin bites."

"I haven't seen many people with gremlin bites," she said, "and I've been here a year."

"They have gone down in number fortunately. God," Isabel laughed, "I remember right after I got here, there was gremlin bite support group meeting. Except it got invaded by gremlins and everyone got bit. They all wound up thinking they were the Brady Bunch."

Dawn cracked up, "Everyone?"

"Just everyone that was in the meeting, yes," she nodded. "I can't remember what everyone thought they were but I do remember Phoebe thinking she was Tiger and Anakin thinking he was Marcia. You have to love that Fandom weirdness."

"Don't ever mention it to Anakin. He gets twitchy," Isabel chuckled.

"So how's cabin living going?"

"I miss the privacy," Dawn said before she could stop herself.

She snickered. "Yeah, I can imagine."

"What about you? How's life in your cabin?"

"Pretty quiet actually. I still haven't met the one new guy," Isabel admitted. "And everyone else is fairly quiet."

"Who are you living with? For that matter, where are you living?"

"I am a noble platypus," she laughed. "On the one side there's Annette and Dick and Pam and Jim. On our side I'm next to Luke, directly across from Cedric and the new guy is catty corner from me."

"It's been quiet so far. But that could change," Isabel shrugged. "Who's in here with you?"

"Sam, Hermione, and some Griffin guy on my side, and Demyx and three people I haven't met on the other side."

"I know Sam, Hermione and Demyx, but damn, there's a lot of new people around," she admitted.

"There really are," Dawn agreed, "And many of them are pretty, but...there's so many of them. It's kind of intimidating."

"I met one of the pretty ones in town today," Isabel snickered. "He tried to asked me out."

"Did you say yes?" She asked, nosy as always.

"I said he tried to ask. It didn't mean I gave him a chance. He seems nice enough but he gave off total player vibes," she explained.
