Cthulhu Campfire, Tuesday Afternoon (After Workshops)

Sam wasn't used to not having classes every day, and not having to worry about his workshops until tomorrow was making him feel weird. So, he went out by the campfire to get some fresh air and read one of the books he'd gotten for his birthday.

Dawn facepalmed, then started giggling, "Modesty, thy name is Winchester."

"I'm a big fan of if you got it, flaunt it," Dean said. "I'll let Sammy handle the modesty department."

Dean grinned at her. "I'm sure if anyone can talk Sammy into flaunting it, it would be you."

"I don't know that I want him flaunting it to everyone--there could be a stampede," she said, thoroughly besotted.

Dean chuckled again. "You have it so bad..."

Dawn couldn't really deny that. "His fault."

"I think Sammy would happily take that blame," Dean said, grinning at her.

"Yeah?" She grinned widely, "And wow, I almost can't stand this. It's sickening, seriously."

"Yeah, you two need to come with an insulin warning," Dean teased.

"We're getting better--we fight now," Dawn told him, almost proud of that.

"Does that mean I have to worry about one or the other of you showing up on my doorstep for my spare bed?" Dean teased.

She frowned, "I really hope not. Kinda depends, though, right? I never thought I was going to need it last time, either."

"Yeah, well thankfully, Sammy doesn't turn into a moron very often," Dean said.

"True." Dawn elbowed him, "So, what's new with you? Seducing pretty girls and having way too much fun to tell anyone about?"

Dean grinned at her. "That would be kissing and telling," he teased. Then offered almost off handedly, "Alec and I kinda had a fight on the weekend. Well an argument. Disagreement. Whatever."

"Is everything okay now? What happened?"

Dean shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. He got all bent out of shape because I told Charlie not to worry if he flirted with her -- he wouldn't go any further than she wanted. Apparently 'smoothing the way' for him is a bad thing."

"Who's Charlie?" She asked, not that that was remotely the point, "And was she worried that he would? Did he do or say something to her that made her think that?"

"Charlie's my little sister." Dean shook his head. "She hadn't even met him yet."

"So...you mean you told someone who's new to the school and probably doesn't know which way is up that it's okay to be friends with Alec because he's not going to attack her?" Dawn stared at him. "Can you please not introduce me to anyone that way?"

"That's not what I said," Dean protested.

"Sure it is," Dawn argued, "when you translate it into girl-speak, that is pretty much what you said--that it was okay to trust Alec, because he's a big flirt but he won't push it. The two steps involved in pushing it are obnoxiousness requiring a two-by-four and attacking. If she's fidgety enough that she needed a warning in the first place, her mind probably instantly leapt to the second step."
