Main Campfire, Saturday late afternoon

Johnny was bored. He didn't have any dates today. Or tonight. And man, that really sucked. 

To pass the time he was making fat marshmallow men and setting them up for target practice. Yes. That's what he was calling it. Target practice. And they weren't really being set up, rather he was launching them straight into the air with a catapult, then blasting them with a fast fireball.

Laughing, he watched them burn up in the sky.

Johnny was easily amused.

But it still sucked that he didn't have a date for this evening.

John was walking back from detention when he saw a boy from his class setting marshmallows on fire. He was amused, and thought he'd watch for a bit.

"Cool trick," he said.

Johnny glanced over, grinning, "Isn't it though?" Then he launched another puffy man and shot him in the air, torching him with a bark of laughter.

John was impressed watching the marshmallow man light on fire. "Aren't you in Flight and Flying?" he asked.

After spotting John, Turtle went to extra lengths to try not to be noticed. Sure, he'd probably see the haircut eventually because they were in the same cabin, but she was really paranoid about people making fun of it. She even kept her face in her hands; maybe he wouldn't recognize that it was her?

John saw Turtle and immediately saw her hair, "Turtle! Your hair looks great!" He didn't think Annette was going to be happy about that at all.

Returning to the camp after Deadpool had taken her to the mainland to get that hackjob on her head looking somewhat decent which will be posted...at some point, she steeled herself and told herself that she'd never get to the point where she could deal with the short hair if she wasn't strong, sucked it up, and dealt with people. So she went to the main campfire, really nervous, but hoping the haircut didn't look too bad.

Even she had to admit, though, it was kind of cute. And she liked the way it felt when she turned her head. Which was why she was doing that a lot.

She kind of forgot about all that when she saw the fireballs, though.

Moving to grab another marshmallow man, Johnny took notice of the girl that was just nearing the area. Smiling, he waved, "Hey, there." Then he launched the man and torched him in the sky. Nothing like toasted marshmallow.

Turtle leaned against a tree that was well away from the target area. She waved back a little, but then her hand very consciously went to her hair, stroking the few front strands nervously. "What did the little marshmallow men ever do to you?" she asked, attempting a little bit of a smile that came out looking rather impish in the end.

Annette saw Turtle and immediately noticed her hair. Omigod.

And Turtle immediately shifted nervously in her seat, pretending like either she didn't exist or Annette didn't exist because the last person she wanted to deal with was her. Hum hum hum, Annette who? La la la.

"Isn't that a waste of good marshmallows?" Buffy asked, wandering over.

Johnny paused as he was getting ready to launch another one, and turned to look over at the cute blonde he has not yet met. Amused, he quirked a brow and said, "I think the answer might depend on the marshmallow owner."

"You stole marshmallows to set them on fire? Shame on you," Buffy grinned. "Hi, I'm Buffy."

Turtle's hands were totally on her neck as she spotted Buffy, as if trying to hide the hair cut while she whistled innocently in an effort to not be noticed by the Fake Big Sister.

The whistling was probably a little over the top, as it did make Buffy notice her. "Hi Turtle!" Pause as Buffy stared at her. "...What did you do to your hair?"

John noticed the blonde by the campfire, "Hey, aren't you one of Molly's friends?"

"I am, hi!" Buffy waved. "I'm Buffy. We're in the same cabin. Molly and me, I mean."

Annette noticed the fireballs first, then the marshmallow men second. She stopped and stared at Johnny. Dick was right. His fake brother played with fire. Pretty cool.

"Hey, Annette," Johnny waved. "Wanna help me? I'll let you launch while I torch?"

"Huh, well, uh, okay..." she said and walked slowly over to the catapult, and stared down at the marshmallow men he had made. "Poor marshmallow guys. Are you extremely bored or something?" She asked, looking back at Johnny.

John looked at Annette. He wondered if she'd seen Turtle's hair yet.

Annette caught John's look and her eyes rounded a little. Yes, she saw Turtle's hair. Buh..

There are some days when Mac decideds that she should make an effort to be sociable. Today was one of those days.

Which is why she wandered over the the main campfire, giving Johnny's target practise a slightly uneasy glance before she waved a vague greeting to the gathered people and sat down.

Turtle was trying to distract herself from the new hair by trying to figure out if she knew Mac or not.
