Flag Football, Camp Gym - 10am

John had the gym all set up for the first real Flag Football practice.  He hoped people had gotten their voicemails or heard the radio broadcast (but not the Bo Peep bit).

John had set up a table with more copies of his handout.  Two crates were on the gym floor: one containing dozens of footballs, and another with flag belts and red and yellow flags.

Willow was off to the side, being a good co-captainy type and John was pacing, eager for practice to begin.

"Oh, that's great then! Maybe now, since it's not an official school sport, I can play one game and cheer the next, or something like that," she said smiling. "Practicing today has made me think I might really enjoy it. Are you going to try and play at all?"

Molly shook her head. "I'd rather watch and cheer," she said. There was the whole super strength issue too, but that wasn't why Molly chose not to play.

Annette nodded, "I might feel the same after one game of not really knowing what I'm doing," she admitted, smirking. "But for now, I'll try it. It would be something to have a sport around here to actually cheer for, as long as there was a good turn out with participation."

Molly nodded and grinned. "That is why I'm helping John with all of this. We need something to cheer for, even if it is just some of us and unofficial. And I'm sure you'll do fine. There are people here who've never even heard of football before. You know more than they do."

Grinning, she said, "Yeah, I've at least watched it on TV. And it's great that you're helping John, Molly. Seems like there is a good crowd already gathered. I hope more of the cheerleaders show up and just have a good time with it."

"Me too!" Molly said in response to Annette's last statement. "I was late to practice last week so there really wasn't a good time to mention it, but I will for sure this Wednesday."

"Yay!" She grinned wide, "I bet almost everyone will come out at the next Flag Football gathering! I imagine the teams will love being cheered for, but exactly how will that work? Will we just cheer equally for the teams playing against each other?"

"If we do it like we did for basketball last summer, we'll probably split into two squads and each cheer for one," Molly explained. "It kind of depends on how many cheerleaders come. Who knows, it may just be me cheering for both," she added with a laugh.

"Oh, that sounds like a good idea, splitting into two squads," she nodded, then laughed at Molly's last statement. "If it comes down to that, I'll cheer for one and you the other."

Molly giggled. "Thanks!"

"Welcome, Molly," Annette giggled too, thinking it would be totally amusing to see.
