Flag Football, Camp Gym - 10am

John had the gym all set up for the first real Flag Football practice.  He hoped people had gotten their voicemails or heard the radio broadcast (but not the Bo Peep bit).

John had set up a table with more copies of his handout.  Two crates were on the gym floor: one containing dozens of footballs, and another with flag belts and red and yellow flags. 

Willow was off to the side, being a good co-captainy type and John was pacing, eager for practice to begin.

"It is overwhelming, isn't it?" Evie said sympathetically. "I'm *still* meeting people who've been here a while, and I got here last Fall! I didn't meet Sokka until Valentine's Day, and he'd been here weeks already!"

He raised his brows, "Wow. Lot's of people here. I haven't met Sokka yet. It's beginning to feel like I've met less than what I was thinking. But if it's taken you that long to meet someone then I am holding out hope that eventually I will be satisfied that I at least have met most." And didn't that feel like some sort of tongue twister. Gah.

Evie patted him on the arm. "That's the spirit! And that's Sokka over there." She may have given an extra little hop and a blush as she pointed him out. "The one with the warrior's tail, talking to Annette."

Johnny looked over to where she pointed, spotting Annette first then the guy she was practicing with. "Guess I will meet him eventually if we get hooked up on a team," he said, looking back at her and noticing the blush. "Ahh, he's your boyfriend?"

"Yes!" Evie twirled, then looked embarassed. "He is. We've been going out for a bit over a month now. He's a warrior with the Water Tribe!"

Laughing, he said, "Just over a month, eh? That's totally cool, Evie. A warrior - think he'll want to kick my butt for partnering with you?" he asked, jokingly.

"Oh, noooo," Evie protested, laughing. "No, no! He's not at all jealous. He's not even threatening to beat up my new boy roommate." She frowned. "Although, I think that's because he thinks Warren is a ... wuss?"

Which only had him laughing harder, "No, no, speaking as a guy I can tell you were not really threatened by...wusses."

"Good, good," Evie squeaked, then looked concerned. "Oh, dear. I think Sokka has gotten hurt. Do excuse me? And thank you so much for your help!"

"You're welcome, Evie, and no problem, anytime," he said, looking over and seeing where Sokka had fallen. Ouch. Must have taken a nose dive for that ball, thought Johnny.
