Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Once again, there were appetising scents emanating from the fifth-floor common room. Ronan was in another cooking mood. This time, it was the rich and spicy scent of Mexican -- well, technically Tex-Mex -- food, grilling chicken, sweet chilies, and a dash of cumin, with sliced bell peppers and onions in another pan. Ronan was still chopping and preparing, but already on the counter was an array of tortillas, and various moddable toppings that people might wish to put on their fajitas.

Marco had a radar for free food. Not literally, but he was in the common room, trying to walk over sneakily to the food.

Ronan had a radar for people sneaking towards his food. Not literally, but he noticed Marco trying to sneak towards it and smiled. "Hi!" he said. "Help yourself! Lots of fajita fixings to go around."

Marco not so sneakily grabbed one. "Awesome. I have a soft spot for fajitas. Well, all food, really."

Ronan laughed. "I understand that. I have rather a soft spot for making food. Seems like a good match." He smiled, possibly leaning a little artfully against the counter.

Marco didn't choke on his fajita from laughing, really. "Where'd you learn to cook?" He asked when air was no longer a problem.

"From my mum," Ronan replied. "She just kind of... did, and eventually I just picked it up from her."

Marco nodded as he chewed. "Awesome. She taught you well."

"Marco!" Turtle greeted him brightly as he came in. She debated adding one of her little surnames for him, but decided to just keep 'em saved for radio.

"Turtle who is not my roommate!" Marco greeted her cheerfully and very glad that Polo had not been tacked on.

Shockingly, Turtle'd never thought of that one. Not when 'who is not cuter than Anders' and 'who used to be the world's worst vending machine' were available.

She let out a snort. "How's that working out for you, by the way? The whole Turtle-who-isn't-me as a roommate thing?"

Oddly enough, Marco disliked Polo more than those. Possibly because it was the over-used one. "Well...he doesn't complain when my junk food containers threaten world domination or my video gaming goes into its fifth hour so I think we're good."

"I think that first one requires more explanation," Turtle observed.

Marco blinked. "I like junk food?"

"Yes, I figured out that much. The world domination part."

"Ah! See, they're planning. I can tell. At night, they get together and make plans on how they're going to hold all the health food hostage."

Annette spotted Marco and made a beeline for him, grinning wide and waving. And she went in straight for a hug!

Marco found himself being suddenly hugged. He didn't mind. "Annette!" He tried to lift her off of the ground a little. The trick was made difficult by the fact that he barely had a few inches over five feet.

Charlie waved to the new guy, and sneakily got out of his way as he went over to the food.

Marco waved. "Random new girl who I don't yet know!"

"Random not-new guy who I've never met yet!" Charlie said, waving back. "Have a fajita. The Nomadic Celtic Chef is on a roll. But not cooking rolls."

Marco held up one hand with a fajita and grabbed another one with his other hand all the while grinning. "Rolls are good. I'm Marco, not Polo."

"I'm Charlie, good to meet you," she said, taking a bite of her fajita. "And yup! Ronan's roll includes fixin's, so I'm all for it." She sighed contentedly. "Although I think I have to pay him back in spaghetti now."

"You can pay me in spaghetti too!" Marco helpfully pointed out.

Charlie snickered. "Are you going to make me fajitas? Or rolls? Or fajita rolls? Ooo, or sushi?"

"Sorry, don't do raw fish, but how did you guess that I'm from California? I make a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwhich."
