Third floor common room, Monday night

Jaina was on the bored side. Even Jaina realized that Jaina on the bored side was not necessarily a good thing. This was why she was in the common room, vigorously flipping channels and occasionally muttering things like "...There's a channel for cooking?"

She obviously didn't spend a lot of time watching stuff like this back home.

"Well, my answer depends on what you blaming me entails."

"I might have to find a way to get back at you somehow," she said, considering it. "Maybe annoying music blasting outside your room early in the morning."

"Okay, I think I can deal with that," John replied after consideration. "Go ahead and flip."

"Remember, you did it to yourself," Jaina said, and flipped over.

And immediately started making faces. It wasn't particularly bad. But she could fake that it was.

John laughed when a particularly awful hair metal video began playing. "See, this is supposed to be music, and that's the video of the band pretending to play the music."

"Yeah. That's not music," she decided. "That's pain."

John cocked his head to the side, "Yeah, it looks as painful as it sounds. It's almost hypnotic."

"Eventually don't their ears start to bleed?"

"You'd think so," he said. "I think that's what all the hair is for."

"I thought they were trying to compete with the girls."

"Sadly, no. The girls seemed to dig that odd hairstyle at the time," he said. "Oh, and remember, this is not current music."

"Tell me it's better," she said, turning down the volume a bit.

"It gets better," he said unconvincingly as a new, crappier song began. "Um, wow, those are really tight pants."

Jaina frowned, kind of staring. "I think those pants might actually removing my hormones. Because no."

"Are you going to turn it off at any point?" John whined, covering his eyes with his hand and peeking at Jaina through his fingers.

"Have you learned your lesson?"

"Um, yes?" It was much more like a question than a response.

She flips the channel to something much less... that. "Ears not bleeding?"

John raised his hands to his ears. "Nope, we're safe."
