There were painstakingly measured cone paths running up and down the length of the gym. Today the players were going to run.

Once everyone appeared to be assembled, John made an announcement, "Okay guys, today we're gonna run sprints. Let's see how fast all of you can run 100 meters." He motioned to a box of stopwatches next to the sign-in sheet. "Grab a stopwatch and time yourself. You can also get in groups or pairs if you'd like. If you have questions, your captains are available as always."

"I know, or you wouldn't have your warrior's tail," Evie said, getting to her feet, and offering him a hand. "Katara's your sister, yes? Well, that makes sense. I can still push Jonathan around, when he's not paying attention. And yes, I've met Rikku, she's quite nice. Why was she trying to beat you up?"

Sokka looked a little sheepish. "I was trying to beat her up. She made fun of my hair."

"Oh, Sokka." Evie put her hands over her face, and then shook her head. "Not that she should have done that, at all. But really. You couldn't just, just-- I don't know, make fun of her hair back?"

Sokka looked at her like she had grown an extra head. "Yeeeah. Because that would work."

Evie rolled her eyes. Boys. "Right, well, of course. There *are* better reasons for fighting, though. Although the honor of your hair must be defended, I suppose?"

"Hey, I spent a few months fighting to save the world and protect my friends," Sokka replied defensively. "I'm getting out of practice, though."

"True, true." Evie looked mollified. "Are there any classes to practice in, this session? I can't remember. Oh! What did you sign up for, this time?"

"Not fighting, I don't think?" Sokka said. "I signed up for... uh. Guns, and Blowing Stuff Up, and Stupid People. And.... No, I think that's it." He looked at her hopefully. "Are you in any of those?"

"Blowing Stuff Up!" Evie said, bouncing gleefully. "And Patriotism Yay, and Pie. I'm not much of a cook. But pie should be easy, don't you think?"

"Oh, SWEET!!!" Sokka replied, also bouncing. "That class is going to be SO AWESOME. Professor Aly let me sit in on a class a few weeks ago and it ROCKED!"

He grinned at her. "If you make good pie, can I have some?"

"YAY!!" Evie did a little dance. "I met her, she's quite nice! I delivered a present to her from Professor Deadpool! Oh, we're going to have so much fun, I hope we both get into the class!" She tried to look prim, without any success. "And maaaybe. What kind of pies do you like?"

Sokka thought about that. "Pretty much any kind of pie, really. All pies are good!"

Evie gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Then when I have learned how to make a really good, un-burnt pie, with flaky crust, it'll be yours. Key lime, maybe!"

Sokka blushed. "... Uhhhh. Yeah. I don't know what a key-lime is, but yeah. Sounds good."
