Gym, Flag Football Practice, Sunday Noon

There were painstakingly measured cone paths running up and down the length of the gym.  Today the players were going to run. 

Once everyone appeared to be assembled, John made an announcement, "Okay guys, today we're gonna run sprints.  Let's see how fast all of you can run 100 meters."  He motioned to a box of stopwatches next to the sign-in sheet.  "Grab a stopwatch and time yourself.  You can also get in groups or pairs if you'd like.  If you have questions, your captains are available as always."

"Oh, I think you know exactly what I'd like," Lana said with a suggestive grin.

"Why are we even bothering to run?"

"Because it's fun!" Lana said. "And besides, you still have to practice. This little... bet would just mean we both had a little something to anticipate."

"Okay, okay," he laughed.

"And since you accused me of cheating before, you say when we go this time." She smiled at him and prepared to run. "Whenever you're ready."

Jim took up his position. "Ready . . . set . . ." He took off. "Go!"

Lana took off just after he did and put everything she had into the sprint. Oh, she was determined to win this, especially with the blatant cheating!

Unfortunately, she probably could. Not that Jim was complaining about the view.

She pulled even, maybe a little bit ahead as they came to the end. She turned on as much speed as she could to get her past the finish line, then turned to see if she'd managed to win.

She had, by a couple of steps. But Jim didn't quite stop, scooping her up around the waist and kissing her emphatically.

Lana giggled delightedly, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him back. "I guess I won."

"No, I think I did," he grinned, kissing her again.

"I won the bet. So tonight..." She smiled up at him.

"And everything in between." She gave him a look which she hoped would make him want to just carry her off to their room immediately.

"That's a lot of ground to cover. We should get started right away."
