Fourth floor common room, Thursday evening
Dean had left his room, wondering if a change of venue would silence the music, which not so much.
Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say
Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
He flopped down on the sofa and grabbed the tv remote, wondering if he could find something to drown it out. It was a good song and all, but there was only so many times through he could listen to it.

Dawn was giggling as she remembered. "Yeah? How'd'you figure?"

Live fast die young
The only way ta play
Wouldn't have it
Couldn't have it any other way
Never make it out of this a live
Never say never say never to my self
So what who cares, never meant to survive
Paybacks a bitch now you're gonna feel
The wrath
Dean looked annoyed at the air. "Not quite that kind of payback, but thanks for that."

They say there's a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better but I say it ain't
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
the Sinners are much more fun...
Only the good die young.
She scowled. "Shut up. That's not helping."

Takin' care of business every way
I've been takin' care of business It's all mine
Takin' care of business and working overtime
Dean rolled his eyes. "That's not funny," he said to the air.

All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone
Dawn scowled again. "All I meant was that you sound like you could use a break."

So on we go, his welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bare, we'll get there
For I know he would not encumber me
He ain't heavy - he's my brother
He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Dude, you are too heavy, gigantor that you are."

And obligingly,
This is the song that never ends,
Yes it goes on and on my friends
Some people starting singing it not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it forever just because...
Dean groaned and buried his face in his hands.
