Lawn in front of the dorms, Thursday after first period

Eight inches? Jude didn't know imperial very well, but that just sounded insane.

So there was only one thing to do, one logical course of action to follow. The resurrection of a proud Fandom High tradition (hey, he'd done it once before, hadn't he?).

So now, Jude was standing in front of the dorms in his Awesome suit, jacket and skateboard nearby, holding aloft a sign that said simply, 'FREE HUGS'. A stack of similar signs was at his feet.

Tori grinned and hugged Anders tightly. "Yes, I did. Though I have to admit, I don't know what a twitchy ears hex was supposed to accomplish. It only made me hate her even more," she admitted. "Though, I'm more pissed about what she did to Phoebe. I'm thinking of having a nice little chat with that horrible woman."

"Even if she does something worse to you?" Anders frowned, looking pretty fiercely scowly at the reminder of what had happened to Phoebe. "Xander wouldn't let me wall her up inside the construction site."

"Even if that, yes," Tori nodded, completely serious. "She doesn't get to hurt my friends and get away with it, no way," she was angry. "Damn, that would've been perfect, too."

"Why do you think I'm so bummed he wouldn't let me do it?" asked Anders with a tight laugh. "You don't . . . I don't care what kind of powers you have, it doesn't make you more special than anyone else and you don't frakking do that to people."

Tori managed a small smile. "I would be, too, yeah," she admitted. "Seriously, whatever power trip she's on right now needs to stop."

"I still think she's got the other teachers under a spell or something," Anders said darkly. "I don't see how they could ignore this otherwise."

"Well I know she doesn't have Mr. Phale under one. I told him what she's been up to and he was very upset," Tori explained. "I'm sure he's passed along the information to Dr. Wilson and some of the other teachers by now. They can't not know what's going on here."

"I should've known you'd be on top of that," Anders told her. "I can't even imagine what it'd be like if she really got out of control. Not that she's not already, but . . . I mean, I wouldn't put it past her to do some really vicious things."

"I do what I can," Tori managed a small smile. "No, I understand what you mean. And I'm not going to lie, that possibility scares me. A lot."

"Well, if nothing else the students won't stand for it," Anders mused. "I've seen 'em all band together to fight other things before, but never somebody in the school. That could be weird."

"Oh, definitely not," Tori smiled, thinking of Hermione, Billy and Savannah and their plans. "Yes, it certainly could be," she agreed. "I'm not too keen on physically fighting other humans," she began, it reminding her of Conner, "but I think I can make an exception with Umbridge."

"I think she definitely makes an exception to the rule," Anders agreed. "By which I mean real rules. Not stupid ones."

Tori laughed. "Seriously, they're the most asinine rules that have ever been created!"

"Does she even get it?" asked Anders. "I mean, does it seriously not occur to her that she's just asking for people to go out and do exactly what she's telling us we can't do? Lady doesn't know teenagers at all."

"I don't think she does," Tori scoffed. "No, she really doesn't. Maybe she was dropped on her head when she was younger?"
