School grounds, Monday after workshops

Johnny was pissed. And he was freaking hungry. His tongue was still firmly attached to the roof of his mouth and every now and then he would have to wipe the drool that pooled in the corners.

He was sitting on the lawn, bemoaning his sad state with little mumblings that made no sense whatsoever. He should have set the old hag on fire. Dammit all.

River's eyes darkened a little. "Bu huihen de pofu. Should stay away from evil witches." She slowly sat down next to Johnny.

He raised his hands in the air. She called me to her office. "Uuuh nngth."

Perhaps she was being to harsh to him, as he was clearly not in a good mood. But then she had a reasonably clear idea of what had happened. "Teasing the witch is tempting fate," she said.

Johnny blinked innocently at River and pointed at himself. "Oohhnth eee?" Trying to talk sucked. I trust tried to get her to smile. That's all.

It was sweet and River couldn't help smiling, but she wasn't fooled of course. "Not everyone likes to smile, Johnny. Don't waste pearls on swine."

He chuckled but it sounded way bad, plus he had to wipe his mouth again. I'll remember that next time. Right now I just want a big fat cheeseburger.

"Will be difficult to get it down your throat," River said thoughtfully, giving him a look of sympathy. "I have ice cream if you want."

He smiled at her offer but shook his head. He had no idea how he'd work even that around his tongue and down his throat. I could use a straw but then I might have a hard time sucking.

"Need practise. Spell might fade before you starve to death." She tried an encouraging smile. "Will have to direct your mind to things other than food."

He gave her a look. Like what?

"Not for me to decide. Have to find that out yourself," River said, looking cheerful.

While her cheerfulness was cute, Johnny was still annoyed. He couldn't talk, he couldn't eat, and now River was wanting him to think? Come on!

I'm drooling like a baby.

"Drooling is not distracting enough," she replied. "What makes you forget everything around you?"

Johnny didn't even have to think too hard.

River didn't have to ask, really. She nodded. "That would relieve your current discomfort though distraction," she said.

Oh, yeah. Like in a major way. Johnny just knew it. How could he think about his tongue when he was... you know.

River blinked at his thoughts and blushed slightly, but grinned. "Find someone to distract you," she said, getting to her feet.

"Tempting," River grinned. "I don't do that in public though. Statistic probability for one of your dates to walk past soon is fairly high. Don't need me."

Giving her a wicked grin, he came to his feet and started to undo his pants. What? He was totally hot.
