River looked up at the sky. Once it got dark enough the stars would be visible. She smiled. That would be decoration enough. The music was already playing and she tooka a few dance steps, then spun around, closing her eyes.

Still, to be a proper party there was a few other things needed, and River had made sure they were there. Buffy had let her borrow the CD-player they used for the cheerleader practice, and Isabel had brought a large collection of CDs. River herself had provided snacks, mainly the kind bought from a shop, and had mixed a non-alcoholic punch.

From somewhere a few bags of glitter had appeared, available for anyone who needed it. River frowned, then shrugged. She placed the chair she had promised Adah next to the stairs, hoping that she would brave the long climb up to the roof, and put a blanket on top of it.

"I'm just not into that boykissy stuff," Wyatt protested. "I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea or something and then I'd have to break their heart."

"I think you're safe. The usual suspects for boykissy aren't around," she promised. "Today the glitter is all about the fun."

"Well . . . if you say so," Wyatt said, though he wasn't entirely convinced.

"If I see another guy going to kiss you, I'll tackle them away."

Maybe. It depended on how pretty he was.

"My hero," Wyatt said, grinning. "Does glitter cause girls to kiss, too?"

"Not really? Or at least it never really affected me," Isabel shrugged. "I've only kissed two girls since I've been here. And glitter was never involved."

"I don't think it really works anyway," Wyatt said dubiously.

She grinned and pulled some glitter from her pocket. "Maybe it's just the power of suggestion. And if you've got a strong enough will, you're safe. Shall I?"

"Bring it on," Wyatt challenged, holding out his arms. It didn't hurt that it would require Isabel being close to him, after all.

Isabel could never resist a challenge, she stepped a little closer and started to liberally dose Wyatt with glitter. "Sorry I can't make you glitter like I am. Ronan did that for me."

"He has the magical power of making people glittery?" Wyatt said with a snicker. "Evil of the world, beware."

"Jealous?" Isabel teased.

"No," Wyatt said. "I can make myself all shiny and sparkly on my own." He orbed, but didn't go anywhere, just stayed in place and reappeared.

She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "Show-off!"

"When you've got it, flaunt it," Wyatt said, smirking.

"Well in that case..."

Isabel held out a hand towards the table where the bags of glitter were. An open bag went flying towards Wyatt.

Wyatt yelped. His shield sensed danger and went off, and the glitter impacted and exploded. Unfortunately, the danger of being hit by a projectile weapon passed, the shield went down. And the glitter that was still in the air? Now drifted down to cover Wyatt.
