Gym: Flag Football Practice, Sunday Noon

John was hoping for some new recruits after the club event and the exceptional crayon posters he'd handwavily put up in the dorms last week. He'd managed to combine homework with club work and drew landscapes in the background.

He set out the sign-up sheet so he and Willow could rearrange teams as needed, and put out the crates of flag belts and footballs.

When people had gathered, he cleared his throat and made a little announcement.

"Hey guys, good to see some new faces amongst the old. I'm John Sheppard, I head up the gold team. Willow Rosenberg," he pointed her out if she was there, "is the leader of the blue team. Today I want to review some football basics as well as remind everybody that we're playing 'flag' not 'tackle' football." He went on to highlight some of the important aspects of football gameplay before concluding his short speech. "Also, to keep it fair for those of us," he indicated himself, "that don't have any, all players need to refrain from using their powers in game. So, feel free to mingle and practice your skills. Willow and I are available if you have any questions. Next week we'll assign new players to a team."

[ooc: Practice is open to new players, old players, and oglers of all kinds. There's space in the gym for non-footbally goodness, too. If any chars need encouragement to join, John is more than willing to help. Please wait for Minimal OCD is up!]

Peter figured that it was long enough that he'd been lazy and not joined the team. Now was a good time to correct that.

Dawn was stretching out her back and legs, figuring she'd do more running than throwing.

Jim looked a little distracted as he warmed up today.

Anders did his usual obsessive stretching routine.

It was a little scary.

Seriously, he'd be stretching his eyebrow muscles next.

Meg had never played football before but she cheered for it a lot so she figured she had the rules down. She sat down on the ground and began to do some of the stretches she learned in cheerleading.

Having decided that if the people here were going to take an interest in Quidditch, he might as well check out their game as well, Harry began to mimic the others' stretches.

Although, he'd never been much good at sports while off his broom. This did, he admitted to himself, have some potential to go wrong. Especially since he didn't know a thing about American football.

Adam stretched, making sure to do it well.

Billy had the stretching covered at least.

Adam was happy that flag football was back. He grabbed a football and tossed it back and forth.

With a wave to John, Molly took a seat in the bleachers.

When there was a break in practice, she stood up and did some big time waving to get Dawn's attention, hoping to get her to come over.

About halfway through, Jaina took a seat in the back, just to watch. What, she was curious.

Willow was there, keeping a close eye on things. If any of the new players were good she wanted to be able to pounce on them.

I'll be running some errands this afternoon, but after that shall be around.
