In the kitchen area, there was a Jenny. And Jenny? Was wearing an apron. This was generally not a good thing. Luckily for other people, especially if they were looking for something to eat, she was not alone.

"Right," she said to Ronan. "Feed me, meta for Seymour."

"...let's never do that," Jenny said firmly. "There's a bakery in town. Problem solved!"

"Well. When we want regular baked goods, yes," he said. "But surely we can come up with a use for exploding baked goods."

Jenny grinned at him. "I do like the way you think. Explosive eclairs, cream filling everywhere?"

"... Clearly, I have been wasting my efforts on exploding cupcakes."

"Also, I'm thinking flaming scones."

Ronan laughed. "...That, I think, needs to happen," he said. "I'm going to see if I can figure out how."

"There must be a way," Jenny said. "If nothing else there's always lighter fluid. Or liquor." She gestured to the potatoes with her knife, almost cutting her own finger off in the process. Real smooth, Jenny. "These go in?"

"... Liquor-soaked blueberry scones." Ronan grinned. "I'll have to see what I can find... and yeah," he said, "they go right in, along with this." He dropped in the diced turnip. "And now it cooks."

Jenny peered into the soup pot. "That's it?"

"That's it. It's called half-assed soup for a reason."

"This," Jenny declared, "is my kind of recipe. Ronan, you're a genius."

Ronan laughed. "You can thank my Mum for this one," he said. "She loves to cook -- except for when she absolutely hates it. That's when we got this."

"Here's to your mum, then," Jenny said cheerfully. "But I bet even she never came up with liquor-soaked blueberry scones. On fire."
