Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Afternoon
Valentine had nobody coming to see him this weekend. Therefore, he was not out and about, celebrating the finer points of family and proudly showing off the campus and explaining classes and avoiding awkward explanations about how the world worked.
But that didn't mean he wanted to be cooped up in his room, being bitter about this point.
So, instead, he had invaded the second floor common room and had put a sign in the doorway.
Parents-less Party!
You don't have family on the island? That's no reason to be without! Grab the person nearest you and come on in, they're your parent for the day!
You know you want to. There's juggling. And popcorn. And Valentine has the TV turned to a Stuffed Domicile marathon for lack of anything better to put on.
He hadn't grabbed a parent for himself or anything. But Very Important Men had to be at least a little choosy.
(Open, as common rooms tend to be-- parents or not. Come on in and celebrate freedom from the 'rents, or rebel because you are bitter about parents, or even show up if your parents do happen to be about!)

So he was pleasantly surprised to see Valentine's little party.
"Hey, AWESOME idea!" he said cheerfully, as he bounded into the room. "High five!"

Valentine seemed perhaps slightly confused. As Valentines were apt to be. But he certainly could concede that it was, in fact, a rather brilliant idea.

"Okay. You? Lift your right hand and slap my palm." Sokka sighed. "This is called a 'high five'. It's a traditional gesture used to indicate awesomeness."

"For once, I think you've come up with a good idea," she said.

But she said that in a quieter tone of voice so that it wouldn't carry as far.

He wasn't bitter about the world ending thing. Not much.

"It was better than doing nothing all weekend," he pointed out with a grin. "Popcorn?"

"Uh...hi," he waved slightly.

"Hi," he replied with a slight nod of his head. "This common room, being common as it is, is indeed a good place to be."
This was not at all awkward.
no subject
"Yeah, it is. Better when there's no, you know, Xemnas or anybody around. He's not around, is he?" Demyx whirled around in a circle to make sure, looking mildly panicked.

Sokka got up in Demyx's face and poked at his stomach. "You're the one who told me to sing to the doorknob!!!" He poked some more. "Thanks to you I was locked out of my room for, DAYS!!!"
