Second Floor Common Room: Monday Afternoon

Valentine had a Really Useful Book. Unfortunately, the fact that its only page was a snippet about remembering the things one's mother had said made the aforementioned Really Useful Book... somewhat less than useful. This had to be rectified. It was high time the book got some new pages.

Therefore, Valentine was flipping through television stations, listening to snippets from daytime soaps and trying to pick out anything that might be considered good advice. Clearly, he needed some assistance. The book was looking scared.

"Unless you know the practical applications that those items have, and can single one out for our purpose?"

He paused to consider a little more.

"Preferably something affordable and relatively ... safe?"

Cassandra considered this, then nodded. "Wood. Wrap one end in nomex mesh. Soak in gasoline."

Valentine grinned.

"That sounds like a winner to me!"

Cassandra grinned back, then frowned, "Or maybe kerosine... or maybe..." there were, after all, a whole lot of options.

Valentine had the feeling that he was quite possibly going to have to get used to things like this.

"We'll go with whatever's cheapest," he interrupted.

"Okay," Cassandra nodded. "Then it should be pretty easy."
