Third Floor Common Room [evening]

Evey had found her room with little difficulty, and after tossing her bag towards one of the (thank heaven) two beds, she'd memorized where she'd be returning and wandered out to see what she might find.

And naturally, the there was the common room on her floor, with a television (granted, much older than she was accustomed to, but it would do.) And where there was a television, there was news, and ways to catch up with the fact that she was twenty years in the past.

As a result, Evey was curled up on the couch, quietly flipping through channels and trying to acquaint herself with a world that seemed somewhat different from her history lessons. Perhaps her memory was just a touch fuzzy.

[open! come watch TV yay!]

"I'm Amber Atkins, Evey, nice to meet you too," she replied. "Am I interruptin' your TV time?"

"Oh?" Catch up on what's new in the world? "Where are you from?"

Amber's eyes bugged out. She seriously thought she was all done with the weird for today. "That's... wow." If someone told Amber she was not in 1999 she'd drop dead.

"Coming here, was it planned for you? To go back in the past?"

"Weird. People have been tellin' me this place is weird all day," she sighed. "I beginnin' to believe them."

"I talked with a frog today," she said, wondering if she still believed it.

"I'm still inclined to believe someone was just pokin' fun at me," she said. "But the frog just kept talkin'."

Amber nodded. "He was full of stuffing and his kin folk are on TV. I admit, I pinched myself because I just didn't believe it. I ever tell my ma and she'll ask me what I've been smokin'."

"Oh my gosh no, I'm not tellin' my ma anything. Though honestly? I don't think she would have a problem with anything. She's sort of laid back. Can't do a whole lot with her fake arm and hook hand."

"Yah, you betcha. Our trailer blew up with her in it and she was holdin' a beer can. Melted right into her hand," she said then perked up and added, "She saved my tap shoes though!"
