Third Floor Common Room [evening]

Evey had found her room with little difficulty, and after tossing her bag towards one of the (thank heaven) two beds, she'd memorized where she'd be returning and wandered out to see what she might find.

And naturally, the there was the common room on her floor, with a television (granted, much older than she was accustomed to, but it would do.) And where there was a television, there was news, and ways to catch up with the fact that she was twenty years in the past.

As a result, Evey was curled up on the couch, quietly flipping through channels and trying to acquaint herself with a world that seemed somewhat different from her history lessons. Perhaps her memory was just a touch fuzzy.

She almost laughed. "I'm sure it will," she said, nodding. "Have you been here long, A.J.?"

A.J. grinned lightly. "I started up about halfway during the summer last year. Which, for the record, would have been 1995 for me, but was 2007 for this place. Not a long time, but it feels like I've been here for a while, you know?"

She knew that feeling very well. "Absolutely. How strange for you. I imagine going into the future must be odder than going into the past. Do you like it here?"

"I do," A.J.'s smile continued, but it softened a little, in a happy way. "It's nice. Well, the people are. It's really the people here that makes the difference. I had some great friends back home, too, and I've got some here, so...yeah. It's good."

"Good. It's strange, here, so far, but everyone has been quite nice," she agreed, nodding and chewing her lip.

"Good," A.J. nodded, satisfied that she'd had a good reception so far. "Mostly everyone is, really."
