Third floor common room [morning]

After spending most of the night in a Jedi healing trance, Luke didn't look like he'd had a wall dropped on him the night before.

But he was very, very tired of his room. And he was hungry.

So over Artoo's protests, he was in the common room attempting to make breakfast.

Since he wasn't making cereal, it wasn't going very well.

"Sorry," Luke said, immediately contrite. "You're sure you're okay? Not planning on poking at Doom with sticks?"

River made a face at Dawn that involved wide glaring eyes and bared teeth.

"..." said Z, and, "Okay, clearly I need to pay more attention to what happens in my own dorm room. Jesus. Let's hear it for Artoo."

Dawn's next salvo involved wiggling fingers sticking out the sides of her head like moose antlers.

"Ooooooh," Luke said appreciatively. "It doesn't work this way at home, and most of the food I was eating after I left home was military rations where cooking and eating was kind of discouraged."

"I'm all right," she assured him. "And I won't be poking him. I'm sure John will do that anyway no matter how much I ask him not to. But I do kind of want to have a talk with him."

Or shove him into a wall repeatedly with the Force. Either one.

River responded by tilting her head to the side and letting her tongue fall out and her eyes roll up.

"It was just a little wall," Luke said, pouting. "I don't know why everyone was all upset."

"You're in the military then?" Makoto asked, grinning a little, "And how does it work back home?"

"I'm trying to," Luke said, blushing a bit. "I'm not that good a cook."

"It's Fandom though," Katara pointed out. "People might believe in my imaginary friend."

Luke gave her a hug. "Help me, Joanna Harvelle, you're my only hope," he teased.

"Need assistance?" River offered cheerfully.

Jo rolled her eyes, grinning. "Cereal. I think cereal and you is a good match."

"When you fight walls, the walls usually win," Z reminded him gently.

Oh, like that, was it? Trying desperately not to start giggling at River, Dawn blew a long raspberry, eyes crossed.

"Master Jolee--the guy who runs the bar now?--Force picked the locks once the Force came back, and then we went after Doom with lightsabers and glares." Luke smiled. "I'm not sure which one is scarier on my father."

"A talk with words?" Luke checked.

"Is the guy dead?" Not that Dawn wouldn't love to help Luke get revenge, but she wasn't completely stupid. If he and his father plus two other Jedi hadn't killed the bad guy, he was either too strong or there was a good reason for it. There was nothing she could do.

"As much as I'd think he'd listen to anyway," Jaina said. "He seems a bit single-minded. And egotistical. And like a megalomaniac in the making."

"Mostly food replicators," Luke said, "especially on ships. And I was in the military for a little while. I've been here so long that I'm not sure it really counts any more." He laughed. "I don't think I'd know who they were talking about if I was addressed as Lieutenant Skywalker."

Luke snickered. "Especially if you give him a name and a story and start yelling at people for sitting on him."

"Please," Luke said, grinning. "I was trying to make eggs."

"I can handle cereal," Luke said, nodding. He kissed her nose, then rested his forehead against hers. "I missed you this week."
