Dorm Roof, Tuesday Evening

John was bored and had nothing to do. Okay, so bored was possibly not the right word after he'd listened to his voice mail.

He wasn't sure where the bubble wrap had come from, but it was kismet. Huge quantities of varying sizes of bubble wrap plus one bored teen equaled some really incredible ideas. He drug the bubble wrap up to the roof along with duct tape and a bag of whatever he could find.

Testing the strength of bubble wrap was fun!

Gavin wandered up to the roof and frowned at John and his...materials.

"What are you doing?" he finally asked after watching John for a bit.

"I am testing the strength of bubble wrap," John said, tossing some at Gavin. "Pop some, I dare you to be able to stop."

Gavin caught the bubble wrap in one hand and eyed it critically. "You gotta be on the roof to test it? Is it affected by altitude?"

Sokka cocked his head at Gavin and looked at him thoughtfully for a long while.

"You know, I've seen you around a lot, but would you believe I've forgotten your name?"

Suddenly a memory slid into place.

"...And you've forgotten your tiger."

"No idea what you're talking about," Gavin said, shaking his head in his best deceptive manner.

Don't ask why Marco was on the roof. It's Marco. It was probably illegal. "Oh hey. Planning on jumping off?"

"I was considering it," John told him, watching as the bubble wrap safely deposited some nail clippers on the ground. He'd been hoping for destruction there.

"You'd think the nail clippers would have punctured the bubble wrap." Marco commented. "Maybe more height?"

"Don't even joke about that," Sokka cautioned. "...Unless you can fly. Can you fly? That would be pretty awesome."

Marco paused. "I can fly."

"Wow," Luke said, laughing. "Jaina's been gone a day and you're already this bored?"

"It's been more than a day," John pointed out. "For her at least. You wanna toss something, or what?"

"We're dropping things off the roof!" Gavin said happily.

"Is there really some sort of minimum boredom quota for dropping stuff off the roof?"

Sokka poked his head out the door and looked around. "So... I saw something go past my window? And I thought, wow, if we're breaking stuff, I need to be IN ON THAT."

John tossed some bubble wrap in Sokka's direction. "Have at! It's destruction time."

Rodney had handwavily followed his roomie up to the roof to see what was going on. However, upon spotting John, he was completely distracted from the random mayhem and quite angry.

"I could have died!" Rodney yelled. "And it would have been entirely your fault," he added while pointing emphatically at John.

"I'm sorry, were on the ground when I dropped the candle?" That thing had been pretty heavy.

Sokka blinked at his roomie.

"No, see, we have this thing called physics, that means when you drop something off the roof it doesn't suddenly make a left-hand turn and fly through a window."

"Usually."

When Teyla came up to the roof and saw that it was occupied, she thought about leaving. But then she saw what was going on, and her curiosity got the better of her.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Wrapping stuff in bubble wrap and sending it off the roof," John told her enthusiastically.

"Random destruction!" Sokka announced gleefully.

'She'd' mostly come up just because there was nothing to do and Makoto was wandering.

There was a bit of blinking though at the amount of bubble-wrap on the roof. "Did you rob a bubble-wrap factory or something?"

"Nope," John said, "I found a bunch and this seemed the perfect use for it."
