The Lawns, Saturday after breakfast

Now that Sky, alias Uberman, had been filled with a nice breakfast of pancakes, there were important matters to take care of.

Like fighting off invisible villains.

"Ha! Gotcha with my 'splodey baseball!" he crowed, tossing a tiny plastic ball at what he imagined was the wicked Space Turkey. "And I getcha 'gain if you come back! Uberman never gives up, an' he always beats the bad guys!" He spread his arms and ran in circles, pretending to fly, his red towel "cape" fluttering behind him.

"Here comes Uberman, to save the day..."

[Open for both the wee and the normal-sized to play! ... And no, I have no idea where I pulled Space Turkey from. My nether regions, I expect.]

"I'm Uberman," said Sky, crossing his arms. "An' I do so always win, even if the bad guys win first!"

"That doesn't make any sense," Ino told him, "if they've won then you can't."

Sky pouted.

"It makes sense t'me. Bad guys sometimes win, but I always beat 'em up! Pow!" He swung a tiny fist, then overbalanced and fell over.

"You can't win and lose. That's not sense and you're punching wrong," she told him helpfully, "Daddy does it better than you."

"MY daddy does it just as good as your daddy prob'ly does," Sky pouted. "He's a S.P.D. Ranger, and he beats up more bad guys than Uberman ever did, even."

Ino stuck her tongue out at him. "My Daddy's a Jounin of Konoha and he can take over people's minds to make them stop being bad! So there!"

"Wooooow," said Sky, sounding impressed.

Ino looked mollified. "Daddy's the best," she said then, as if confiding a great secret, "and I want to be strong like him!"

"I wanna be just like my daddy, too," said Sky, completely understanding. "He's my hero."

She bounced, nodding. "I think that Daddys can do anything. Mine always makes it home from missions."

"Yup, mine too," said Sky, smiling. Yes, this was before that happened. "He sometimes has to go away to fight the bad guys, but he always comes back."

"Yay! It's always sad when someone doesn't come back!"

"Yup, it is! But that'll nevet happen to us, right, Ino?"

"Never ever! I won't let it happen! Daddy's too strong to not come back!" Ino was quite firmly convinced of this.

"Mine too!" said Sky proudly, doing a vaguely Ranger-ish pose. "He's the bestest of the bestest at S.P.D. Except maybe C'mander Cruger. ... Naw, Daddy's definitely better."

Ino could totally understand that. "Daddy says that Hokage-sama's better, but that's totally a lie. Daddy is. Daddy's rule."

"They do," said Sky, nodding agreement.
