Friday Night, Gym -- Cheerleader Fashion Show

Friday evening, the gym had turned into quite a different place. There was a stage and runway constructed and lights were at every conceivable position to show off whomever might be up there at any given time.

There was a table set up for taking tickets and another table set up for the purchasing of refreshments.

On the stage, there was a podium draped in blue cloth and when the light hit it, it sparkled ever so slightly.

Instead of the bleachers being pulled out, there were rows upon rows of folding chairs set up through the gym, and they were garnished with bows and streamers in the colors of Fandom High.

"It's amazing,' Romeo had to agree. "And you should, next time they have tryouts. Rikku does it anyhow."

"Pity the squad if they have to deal with both of us," she joked, looking around. "I wonder if Rikku bullied them into letting her wear something orange today."

"I hope she did," Romeo commented, also looking around. "She wouldn't look right in a little black dress."

Tilting his head, he asked, "Did you get to show her anything to do with her hair?"

"For an event like this, I leave the hair to the designer," Dōjima said. "Brooke probably has a definite look in mind, and I didn't want to mess with that. We're supposed to have more girl time later, and I might try touching the idea of hair and make-up then."

"And she'd be absolutely hot in the right little black dress."

"I don't notice make-up," Romeo said truthfully. "And I never said she wouldn't be hot -- she'd be gorgeous, it would just be very different on her."

"I'm impressed Brooke's designed a line."

"The trick with Rikku and black would be accenting it just right. A solid black would just be wrong. Black with a wide satin ribbon in orange at the waist? Freaking adorable. As for make-up?" Dōjima shrugged. "I don't bother as much here as I did at home, but she can still learn the basics. That's what girl time is for. Well, that and gossip. Always gossip."

"I'll get the shop to order something like that for her for prom," Romeo promised, though with a bit of an anxious look. "You don't talk about me, do you?" he asked.

"We talk about boys," Dōjima said honestly, scooting a bit closer to him. "It's not like I'm giving her a detailed account or anything. Just, you know, girl stuff." Which was nice and suitably vague, and hopefully he wasn't going to flail about it.

"Girl stuff," Romeo echoed, putting a hand on her leg and tilting his head to look in her eyes. "Even if there were detailed accounts, it might do me better not to know what was said. I trust you both, anyhow."

"Can't tell you anyway, you aren't a girl," she teased, placing her hand over his and leaning in for a kiss. "That's the idea of girl time, you know."

He kissed her back. "And I like it that you're a little mysterious to me."

Yurika just squeezed his hand as she kissed him, ignoring the small stab of guilt. Trust. Mysterious. Right.

"I'm not that mysterious, am I?" she teased, nuzzling teasingly at his neck. "I thought I was rather transparent. Was my text message in class hard to decipher?"

He laughed softly, oblivious to what she was ignoring. "If I had found it so, you would need to worry I'd been turned into a eunuch. But your girl talk should be just slightly beyond what I can imagine."
