Ursa Major Campfire: Sunday Evening [5-10-08]

C1. That was easy enough to remember.

It had taken her two trips to move her things down to the cabins, largely because she couldn't narrow down what books she wanted to bring any further, and of course she was sure she'd soon discover things she'd forgotten. But for now she was enjoying her favorite part of living in the cabins.

The campfire.

She just wished she'd remembered to get some marshmallows.

"Bridge-people!" Lana said with a smile. "Oooh! Are those marshmallows? I will love you forever if they are. In a purely platonic way, of course."

"They are indeed," Bridge nods. "And for sharing, of course," he adds with a grin.

"Oh, I owe you," Lana said happily. "I was too lazy to walk down to the village again tonight."

"Laziness is an important part of summer!" Bridge replies, holding out the bag of marshmallows in her direction. "So go you with getting a good start on that."

"Does it count if I was mostly lazy because I did too much earlier?" Lana said with a grin as she took a marshmallow and went to search for an appropriate stick.

"I don't know..." Bridge says, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Was it fun stuff or not so fun?"

"Schlepping stuff down to the cabin stuff," Lana admitted.

"Then the laziness is well-deserved," Bridge decides.

Lana nodded and stretched her feet out as she nibbled on her toasted marshmallow. "I may have to laze around all day tomorrow to make up for it."

"Unfortunately I won't be able to get away with that," Bridge says sadly. "As the workshop I'm TAing for is on Mondays."

"Ah..." Lana nodded. "Mine isn't till Wednesday. I work on Tuesdays, though."

"I just have the workshop, since graduation means my stint as a library aide as up," Bridge says. "Which means I've only got one day a week where I absolutely *have* to be somewhere. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with all that free time."

"It is weird," Lana said. "But I figure when summer's over I'll be working like crazy, so a little down time now will be nice."

Bridge nods. "Yeah, me too. Before Fandom I never really *had* down time, but now I'm kind of used to it. It'll almost be weird to go back."

Lana nodded. "I went to school full time and ran my own coffee shop," she said. "Free time wasn't something I was very familiar with."

"For me it was pretty much just a lot of training," Bridge admits. "Evil villains don't take summer vacations, so I guess the reasoning was cadets shouldn't either."

"Makes sense," Lana agreed.
