While the weather was a bit tempermental, Adah decided that she really needed to get out of the cabin for a bit. The dream that snuck up on her Monday had her a little wary about spending too much time in her alcove. She rather easily got a fire started, even with just the use of her good hand, throwing out a bag of marshmallows, some chocolate bars, and a box of graham crackers to satiate the hungry masses and hopefully distract them from bothering her too much if they thought to be social, and settled nearby with some light reading to finish before the last of the daylight hours faded away.

She couldn't wait until summer finished and she could start getting into something a little meatier. Pride, also quite against the idea of staying cooped up all day long, was enjoying the little bout of freedom by hopping lightly around in the grass. Adah wasn't to concerned about the little brown rabbit hopping off, because she felt the two of them had reached an understanding that if he did bounce off, she wasn't going to go bouncing off after him to ensure his safety.

Due to the holiday, Lana much like her mun had not as yet realized that today was Tuesday. And as she was still thinking it was Monday, she had not made it in to open the bookstore today.

She'd had a wonderfully relaxing day and now was stretched out by the campfire reading a book by the firelight.

The nice thing about alien-fu? It meant that during one of the intermittent breaks in the rain, it was a simple matter to dry out the area around the campfire and get a nice little fire blazing.

As always, there were marshmallows and smore fixings for sharing.

Meg had gone out by the campfire with the intention of reading for a couple of hours. Somehow reading turned into making s'mores. Then eventually making s'mores turned into catching marshmallows on fire for fun. Stanford must be so proud. In her defense, she was eating the marshmallows after she blew the fire out. Just peel off the really burnt parts and the marshmallow was still good.

Willow was on a couch in the common area, watching TV thanks to her computer-fu.

Currently she was watching a Bridezillas marathon.

She was a little speechless.

Luke, after an afternoon of searching, had finally found the ride that went with the terrifyingly pony-sized helmet he'd woken up with.

Sadly, it wasn't a airplane. Or a shuttle.

It was...a scooter.

And the ground wasn't exactly level enough for a pony driving a scooter to be a comfortable match. So Luke's pretty, pretty  tail was now full of dirt and sticks as he righted himself for the tenth time and shot Artoo a pony glare.

"Would you stop recording?" he whined.

Artoo had no intention of stopping, no.

[OOC: Come on over and ride the scooter! My ponies were totally tricked out back in the day.]

After a long sparring session with Jaina in the salle and and even longer shower (he was going to miss the unlimited water around here), Luke assembled some food made for sticks--marshmallows, hot dogs, weird Rebel rations that Yoda had always made fun of--and stretched out in front of the campfire.

The fire reminded him a bit of being back on Endor. Without the "being served over it" aspect, of course.

[OOC: So open.]

Yes, the senior cabin was twice as large as any of the other cabins, but there were also twice as many people inside, and so Adah found that she was rather quick to want to slip out from the confines of the cabin, into the rather nice morning, and find a small spot close to the campfire, in the grass, to sit and hope for quiet before the day's activities got too bustling and she might have to relocated with a bit of a limping voyage into the woods, or off the island, into Greece, which she liked but her body did not. The idle quiet was nice for perhaps five minutes; Adah then found herself getting restless, thinking about how much more productive she could be, should be, would be if she'd gotten her internship. She felt useless and bored, a book on her lap, and she started to read about various mutations and synthesis of hemoglobin structures and how to identify and perhaps even predict them, and what started out as being a quiet entertaining read was quickly turning into Adah furiously writing backwards notes in the margins, filling up every white space just as much as the spaces with text and pictures were filled.

Anything to make her feel like she just wasn't sitting there, idle, wasting precious time.

[[ open, of course. guess who has another day off -_- ]]

C1. That was easy enough to remember.

It had taken her two trips to move her things down to the cabins, largely because she couldn't narrow down what books she wanted to bring any further, and of course she was sure she'd soon discover things she'd forgotten. But for now she was enjoying her favorite part of living in the cabins.

The campfire.

She just wished she'd remembered to get some marshmallows.
