Lupus Campfire, Sunday Evening

Sokka had no idea what any of the cabin names meant, so he'd (handwavily) done some reasearch. And was left wondering why everyone else got cabins named after constellations, and he was stuck in the cabin named after a degenerative disease. So he'd done some MORE research and discovered he was in the BEST CABIN EVAR.

Which is why he had "Hungry Like the Wolf" looping in the background while he got the fire going.

Blair was attempting to get the lay of the land - such as who was worth her time and who wasn't - which was why she happened to be passing by a cabin that was not her own.

She stopped when she heard the music. "Very retro," she said. It was impossible to tell if she meant it as a compliment.

Ella gave the girl a puzzled look. "Is it old, then? I don't know it."

Blair looked the girl over. "Just a little," she said, with a false sweetness. "What do you know?"

Sokka grimaced, suddenly feeling uncool. "...But in a good way, right? I'm from another universe entirely; I don't know these things."

"And what universe is that?" Blair asked. She had a few answers of her own, but she'd wait to see what the boy said first. The key thing was that she thought he was speaking metaphorically.

"You a fan of retro?" Cal, despite even his shyest tendencies, could not refuse that one when he caught it. Because, hello. 1974. It was a little weird to wrap his mind around, really, but if he could work that angle to his advantage....

...he doubted that it would, but he thought he would give it a try. Something about this girl reminded him of...

He took a very, very long drag of his cigarette as he waited to see if she'd even bother responding.

"It depends on the kind," Blair replied. Which was true. Unfashionable retro was simply not on. She looked him over and asked a possibly unnecessary question, "You?"

Ella had placed her things neatly in her alcove, then came out to see who else might be around.

An unfamiliar song was playing. "What is this music?" she asked, intrigued.

Sokka waved. "It's by Duran, or something like that. I figured that since 'Lupus' means wolf, we deserved some wolf music for our pack. Hi, I'm Sokka. How are you liking Fandom so far?"

"It's much better than home," Ella decided, then recognized the name. "Sokka? Oh, are you Katara's Sokka? She's my big sister. I'm Ella." Her smile probably showed how pleased she was by that arrangement.

Once Sokka and Katara figured out their little...difference, Katara came over to her little sibling a bit sheepishly. "Sorry. My brother's an idiot sometimes."

"It's quite all right," Ella assured her. "Really, he deserved that, if he was offering you up to other students."

"Sokka! I'm going to kill you!" she snapped as soon as she was within earshot.

Sokka jumped up, nearly burning himself. "What?!?!?! What did I do???"

Alex came over to the campfire, carrying his bag, and asked, "Is this, um," pause to consult his paperwork, "Lupus cabin?"

Sokka grinned and waved at Wes. "DUDE! You're here, too? I didn't see your name on the list!"

Ella smiled at the new boy. "It is! I'm Ella."

Living in a cabin with seven other people was not a situation that Cal was too fond in finding himself in. He was smoking again, he couldn't help it. He was nervous and girls actually talked to him here for some reason which spiked the need for a cigarette exponentially. He figured, with all the fires, no one would notice a little bit of cigarette smoke...

He was, for the most part, walking around the cabins and staying out of the way of socialization, but he had to admit, the music here made him stop a moment and tilt his head to listen.

Sokka grinned and waved. "Hey, Cal! Come share the fire?"

Alex looked up. Hey! Someone he recognized. "Cal! Hey!"

Alex had gotten all her stuff into the cabin with ease, thanks to a few spells she knew. Deciding that living in a cabin might be fun, she venture on out to the campfire.

Spotting Sokka, Alex waved. Hearing the music, she couldn't help but laugh.

Sokka waved back. "Welcome to Fandom! And to the wolf pack. I'm your host for the evening, Sokka the Awesome."
