Sokka had no idea what any of the cabin names meant, so he'd (handwavily) done some reasearch. And was left wondering why everyone else got cabins named after constellations, and he was stuck in the cabin named after a degenerative disease. So he'd done some MORE research and discovered he was in the BEST CABIN EVAR.

Which is why he had "Hungry Like the Wolf" looping in the background while he got the fire going.

Ella smiled at the new boy. "It is! I'm Ella."

"Hello, Ella," Alex said, offering his hand. "I'm Alex. Are you new, too?"

"As of Friday," Ella confirmed, taking the offered hand. "I think I like it, though. So far."

"Yeah?" Alex asked. "I don't know. It's really...not what I'm used to. At all. Well, the communal living, but even that's really different."

"Were you in a school before here?" Ella asked. "Finishing School was the only place where I've shared with others like this. But yes, it seems very different from home. You don't have to use candles for light!"

...candles. Right. "You didn't have electricity? Wow. I was at the Time Force Academy. Um, it's sort of like a police academy." For time.

"I never heard of it before yesterday," Ella said. "Do you still want to be in the police?"

"You never heard of--oh. You never heard of electricity? When are you from?" Alex asked. "And yes, I do. That's why I'm here." Who knew what they would've done if he'd refused his orders?

"Now, as far as I know," Ella said. "IT just seems to be a difference in worlds."

Alex couldn't figure out how she would have gotten here from another planet without electricity to at least power the ship, but, "Oh, okay. How are you liking Earth so far?"
