The genet dashed into the common room, Gladys following, and leapt onto the couch, the TV, then bounced back. "You Have Too Much Energy," she told it, holding out a hand. It leapt into it and started sharpening its claws and trilling.

That meant it was hungry (Gladys had not let it eat any of the tiny monkeys) so she started opening cupboards, looking for something to feed it. The genet immediately ran inside and started kicking things out. "That Is Not Helpful."

It ignored her, pounced on a cereal box, dragged it to the middle of the room, and started disembowelling it. "Your Manners Need Some Work."

"Pets usually don't, without some training," she said, watching the animal from a safe distance. "Is it yours?"

"Yes. It Has Adopted Me." Her eyes flickered, as if she wasn't sure how she felt about it. "I Do Not Know How To Train It. It Is Friendly When It Is Not Eating."

The genet grumbled and chirruped, wolfing down more cereal.

"I wish I could help you there, Gladys. My only advice is to not try training him when he's eating then," she said. She left that sort of thing to Jacen as much as possible for a reason.

"I Will Find A Book That Tells Me How To Do It," she decided. The genet rolled onto its back and tossed a piece of cereal in the air, then leapt to its feet and trotted over to peer at Jaina from behind Gladys' foot. "Will You Need Help With Your Training Again?"

"Sure, if you want to," Jaina smiled, sneaking a peek at the genet. "I haven't spent much time in the gym lately, but I'm planning on changing that this week."

"It Is Good To Be Useful. As Long As It Is Not On Wednesday, That Is The Holy Day." She watched the genet, ready to scoop it up, as it stretched out towards Jaina, slowly creeping forward.

She was definitely watching the genet now, not afraid of it at all, but just watching for any hissing or anything. "Okay, not Wednesday. How's tomorrow morning?"

"Tomorrow Morning Would Be Good," she replied. The genet chirruped expectantly at Jaina. "It Wants You To Pat It. It Is Very Demanding."

Jaina swore she'd never dealt with as many animals in her entire life as she did in Fandom. "You understand it pretty well," she said, kneeling to pet the genet.

"I Do Not Sleep At Night When It Is Awake And So I Have Spent Every Night Watching It," she explained. "Usually We Do Not Come Inside, But I Did Not Want It To Eat The Tiny Monkeys." The genet butted its head hard against Jania's hand and gave a very demanding chirrup. "It Likes To Have Its Ears Scratched."

Trying not to smile, Jaina obediently scratched its ears. "Ohhh yeah, I bet this one had to have a fun day with the monkeys."

The genet didn't purr, exactly, but it did make a happy rumbling noise and flop onto its side. "It Eats The Mice In The Stable, And Bugs And Birds But The Monkeys Were Different." Her eyes flickered uncertainly. "I Did Not Want It To Eat Them."

"Monkeys aren't for eating," Jaina nodded. "Unless you're from a culture that does, but... Yeah, not for eating."

"That Is What I Thought. The Genet Caught One But I Made It Let Go and Brought It Inside." Her eyes glowed a little brighter at having done the right things. "Cereal Is For Eating, Monkeys Are Not."
