2nd Floor Common Room - Tuesday Evening

Meg wanted to reward herself after working hard today. A cupcake sort of reward. So after showering (she had been playing in the dirt all day) she headed to the kitchen to see if there were any cupcakes in the fridge. But there wasn't any. Not even regular cake. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and make her own damn reward. Meg's cupcakes were better than store-bought ones anyhow.

[Open. I am so bored.]

Dean's food sense may have failed him with the pie yesterday but it was working just fine today as he wandered in. "Girlfriend baking. Can't ask for much more than that. At least not involving a stripper pole."

"Now you're just taunting me with the possibilities," Dean teased, coming over to her side. "You need any help?"

"There's no such thing," Dean insisted, leaning forward to take a bite out of the cupcake Meg held.

Happy from a good dancing class, Giselle bounced into the common room. Not that it was the one on her floor but never mind that. "Oh my, are you baking? Did someone need cheering up or are these for the old lady who lives in the wood or is it a friend's birthday?"

[identity profile] stucklikadope.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"What were you working at?" she asked curiously. "I'm sure you do deserve a reward!"

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Adah had to admit. The old lady who lives in the woods was a phrase that one didn't hear often, but, when they did, it warranted their attention to slip that way. Granted, Adah's look was settled over a bit of a confused expression that possibly diagnosed the speaker as perhaps a bit insane, or at least the topic of her comment insane, but it was still a shift in attention.

Ella had gone to the common room in hopes of rummaging up some soup or a sandwich, and brightened when she saw the girl baking. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
"I can't say I think too much frosting is a tragedy," Ella grinned, taking a cupcake. "Thank you, they look wonderful. We haven't met, have we? I'm Ella."

Giselle waved at the other girl. "Hello! Were you planting flowers too?"

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Hi Giselle," Ella returned. "No, I just spent the day trying to avoid the heat. Where were you planting flowers?"

[identity profile] stucklikadope.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
"No, Meg was," Giselle said. "Wasn't that nice of her?"

"Ella! How have you been?" Cimorene asked, coming over to the other girl.

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Asleep.

"The new island location is beautiful, so i suppose I've bene well enough," Ella answered. "Well. Except detention." She made a face.

"And yourself?"

[identity profile] makescherries.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"How did you end up in detention?" Cimorene wondered. "And I've been well. Classes have been ... interesting."

It seemed that cupcakes could draw out even the most reclusive of beasts from their lairs.

Not that Adah was the most reclusive of beasts. Not anymore, anyway, although she still, on occasioned liked to consider herself as such. She, her senses heightened by her recent literary foray into evolutionary processes, could smell them backing, and limped down to the common room to see how they were turning out. She was envisioning disasters of collapses cupcakes, like houses built on fault lands or sinkholes. Her notepad was tucked under her arm, but she wasn't sure whether she'd use it or not. Either way, she reached the door, tilted her head in curiosity and the unspoken but requisite question of whether there was sharing involved.

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
They certainly seemed perfectly fine, although, really, with Meg, Adah would have expected it to have gone one of two ways: perpetually perfect for her perky self, or an under disaster, ala failure that wouldn't only be bested by Adah's eldest sister, also blonde. She realized they were certainly leaning more toward the perfect option. She found a place to set her notebook down, giving Meg a slight nod before holding out her hand.

Cimorene followed the smell of baking. "Mmmm. Cake?"
