Huggable Kitten Campfire, Thursday night
Okay, so flaming up and actually hiding in the fire probably wouldn't be so damn hot if he actually scared someone. But man it was a funny thought. And he'd totally apologize. So that's what Johnny was doing. He was in the fire. Crouching some and hanging out so to speak, ready to move and freak someone out if they came close.
He was kind of bored. Ooops.
[Yo, totally open to anyone.]

Prince Oscar Pedro let out a scratchy meow, calling out in case anyone was hiding.
Pride didn't care. Pride hoped it really was just a fire by itself, because he would have liked that much better.

A twig snapped as he shifted and he shot a fireball up, straight up from the fire.
Yes, the need to entertain animals was quelling his boredom for the moment.

At that moment, these two very different animals had the exact same thought, and very promptly turned tail and ran (or in Pride's case, hopped), deciding that there might be safer places to explore than one with an exploding fire.
If Pride could talk, he'd point out that at least Prince Oscar Pedro didn't have to worry about singed fur.

Frowning, he settled back, enjoying the fire all by himself.
After another moment, however, another fireball shot up straight from the center of the fire. He was cool like that.

"Do I frighten you?"

There was a figure, in that fire. Consumed by it. A body set fully ablaze, crackling, peeling, popping, Mum? Father! Get out of the house, Alice!
She hardly realized she was screaming. She couldn't seem to stop.
no subject
Ooops. Hopefully no one heard her?
no subject
If her hands were getting singed, she didn't appear to notice.
"Get out of the house!" she told him, eyes wild and glassy. "Run!"
It wasn't Dinah's fault. She hadn't meant to. She hadn't.

He extinguished the flames quickly. "Hey... look. I'm fine. Seriously... Oh my god I'm sorry?"

It certainly wasn't worth screaming over.
"Would you like some water?"
no subject
"No birds were flying over head," she said, flatly. "There were no birds to fly."

As if being a newt over the weekend hadn't been humiliating enough. Warren had to be stuck in huggable. Kitten.
He stalked over to the campfire, took a seat, and proceeded to glare at it.
Fires with people in them deserved to be glared at.

Warren was always in a bad mood.

"You know very well you're not real," she said, giving him the same unfocused stare she'd given Viki. "Someone awakens, and we all disappear. Which of us is the dreamer?"
no subject
That was certainly a different way to start a conversation.
"I'll give you the privilege," he replied. "I never was one to have big dreams."

Johnny stared back and a second later shot a fireball over the boys head.
What? The glaring deserved it.
no subject
"Wanna do that again?"
Because he was also the sort to go picking spats with firepits, apparently.
no subject
And apparently he does what he's told.
