Fourth floor common room, Monday morning

Dean didn't have any classes today and figured he could start off the term by making breakfast for whoever happened by. And if no one happened by, then there'd just be a lot of food for him to eat.

Really, there wasn't any bad here.

Dean looked up and saw him there. "Y'know, you're way too tall to lurk in doorways convincingly."

"I wasn't lurking," Sam said. "Just trying to stay out of your way if you want me to."

Dean rolled his eyes. "Get in here and grab a plate. Sasquatches like you need to keep your strength up."

Sam smiled softly and did as Dean asked, taking a plate and a little bit of the food. "Trying to be welcoming to the new people?" he asked.

"New, old, relations, whoever's hungry," Dean said, rolling his eyes again when he saw how much Sammy was taking and adding more to his plate himself.

"Hey, I'm not that hungry," Sam said, looking to see if Dean had a plate he could push the food onto.

"Eat. You're way too heavy to haul around if you pass out from lack of food."

"I'm not going to pass out," Sam said, taking a bite of food so Dean would stop arguing. "You make it sound like I'm sick or something."

"It would explain an awful lot," he said, but just as quickly dropped it. "So what's this I heard about you fighting in the park?"

"Peter has a double," Sam explained, scowling. "He's a jerk, but it's not a big deal."

"You're not usually the hit first ask questions later type though," Dean pointed out. "Well, 'cept with Alec.... this wouldn't just be a double thing would it?"

"He hit me first!" Sam said. "He thought I was my double, and he just came at me in the park."

"Your double -- what you mean Dean Forrester?" Dean shook his head. "Who's want to hit him? He wasn't the type to make enemies."

"Well, apparently Jess doesn't like him," Sam said. "I straightened things out, but he was still an ass, and he tried to hit me so I shoved him into the lake."

Okay he probably shouldn't, considering Sammy wasn't exactly acting normal, but Dean couldn't help an appreciative laugh. "That's my boy."

Sam laughed softly. "I figured you'd approve. I just wasn't in the mood to get screwed around with, you know?"

"No, I have no idea why you would be in a mood like that," Dean deadpanned.

Sam gave Dean a mock glare as he went back to his food. "Did you talk to Dawn like you said you would?" he asked.

"Yep," Dean said shortly.

"That was good of you," Sam said simply.

"She's a good friend," Dean said.

"She's a good person," Sam added. "Does she hate me? Not that I blame her, I'm just wondering."

"She told me to look after you," Dean told him.

"Really?" Sam asked, unable to keep from sounding surprised.

"People just don't turn their feelings off Sammy, even if someone is acting like an idiot," Dean told him.
