Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

It had definitely been an... interesting couple of days for Firekeeper since her rather unexpected arrival. Much of Sunday and Monday had been spent exploring and hunting (they'd avoided the strangely-colored deer, however), and of course sleeping, because as the old wolf proverb went: "hunt when hungry, sleep when not, for hunger always returns."

Now, though, Firekeeper and Blind Seer were lounging on the couch in the large room that seemed to belong to no one in particular, staring at the big black box that was apparently the centerpiece of the room and wondering at its purpose.

Francine stifled a giggle. "Did you call him that to his face? I'd be afraid to; he seems a little grumpy."

"Did," Firekeeper affirmed. "He not seem to mind too much I think."

"He might have been afraid your wolf could get a lot grumpier than him," Francine pointed out with a grin.

"Is not my wolf," Firekeeper explained patiently. Or patiently enough for Firekeeper, anyway.

Francine remembered what she'd said about our parents. "Your, um. Brother?"

"Is good enough word," Firekeeper said approvingly.

"I have a brother too," Francine supplied. "He's a little less furry, though."

"Only a little?" That... may have actually been something approaching a joke.

"On a Saturday morning when he's home from college and hasn't shaved? Yes."

Firekeeper snorted in amusement, though one part of that statement still eluded her. "College? What is?"

"Oh. It's school, like this?" Francine's fingers made a vague arc that could be interpreted to point in the direction of the school building if you squinted and acknowledged that her sense of direction was not all that great. "But for adults."
