Third Floor Commonroom - Tuesday, afternoon - 9/02

The fact that he was in the kitchen probably surprised no one, but what he was doing probably looked a little funny. The candy thermometer, the multiple pots, all the cleaning...

Summer ice was not an easy thing to make. He still had a few faint lines on his arms from when he'd first tried to make it after Sarima's sisters had been taken.

That said, the scent of rosewater and lemon and sugar was high on the air and everything was going smoothly. He already had his first batch on the counter, the second in the fridge and the last he was just finishing up.

[open as they are!]

"Mr. Tennant mentioned how well they were eating, also that you should get a life," she chuckled. "But I'm glad he's doing well. I haven't had a chance too meet him yet."

"Well, maybe Mr. Tennant is right," she said at that eye roll of his.

"I will try to meet him; maybe go into the book shop or something."

"Yah, how are you working on it?" Amber asked.

"Well meeting people is all well and good and yay for not parking yourself beneath a tree. But what about going out and having fun? Have you done any of that lately?"

"Pfft, it's not difficult to understand, Liir. Remember when you and I went out and about when everything was all pirates and ale? Like that minus the pirates and ale. Go to the movies; go out and eat with someone you enjoy being around. Just stuff like that. Try new things yadda yadda yadda." Geeze, she freaking sounded like her ma.

Amber stared at him. "If you could presume on someone's evening, who would it be?"

She didn't much care to go out by herself, but she did it. Hell, if she waited for anyone to ask her, she'd never go out.

She grinned. "And I liked going out with you. We will again when you surprise me with dinner. But... anyone else?"

"Then maybe you could, I don't know, out of the blue pick one and just go out. Have fun," she replied, though she couldn't help the small stab of jealousy that pricked her when he actually named other people.

Stupid her.

She cocked her head, studied him through the length of her lashes. "I would love that, but..." stupid insecurities "...I want you to want it as well and not offer just to please me."

Amber blinked slowly. Smiled. "Then I'm looking forward to it."

It was good; the candy. Amber would sneak a piece to take with her when she left.

"Tonight?" she thought about it. "Well, I don't really have plans though her mun had stuck her at Caritas la."

Amber snickered. "It's usually always on my mind, the going out, but that doesn't mean I always have someone to go out with."

She stared at the flour in his hair and reached out in an attempt to fluff it away.

"You think? I don't know. For as much as I talk and carry on at times, even I get lonely." Not to mention the making stupid decisions thing."
