Third Floor Common Room: Wednesday Afternoon

Anyone entering the common room at this time will notice that Dor is having an intensive conversation with the microwave.

"So... it's not magic?" Dor asked looking somewhat confused.

"What's the problem?" the microwave responded. "It's pretty simple. I have magnetron tube that sends out microwave radiation to heat water and other polarized molecules within food."

Dor just started at the microwave not understanding one word that it said.

"Okay. Fine. It's kind of like magic," the microwave said with a weary sigh.

Dor's befuddled expression showed that he still didn't understand what was going on.

"You're not doing bad," he assured her. "I mean, I can hear the accent but I haven't misheard anything, I don't think, and I can be pretty...dumb sometimes."

Lola smiled. "Thank you. I'm getting a lot of practice."

"Yeah, people are talkers here," he laughed. "Me included. Some say it's a good trait, some wish I would just shut the frak up."

Lola tilted her head. ". . . Frak? I have not heard that one, before."

"You've never--" He shook his head. "Wait, of course you wouldn't. It's a Caprican swear word. Equivalent to fuck, I think. But, it's a multi talented swear word."

Lola grinned. "Then I think I will have to frakking use it, eh?"

"It's one of my favorites," he said and smiled. "Always good to use because not too many people know what the frak it means."

"That is a, uh, frak of an advantage."

"Using it around teachers is a favorite of mine," he said and grinned. "Can't get in trouble."

"I think I will have many words like that. Very few here speak German."

"Ooooh." Lee grinned at the quick pick up. "There you go. Ever get pissed off? Just use frak or one of the German words."

"I think this is the best advice I had gotten yet."

"Glad I could help," Lee said cheerfully. "Despite what some may say, I do have good advice sometimes."

"People say you do not give good advice?"

"Some, yeah," he said and laughed. "I've gotten used to it."

"You should give them bad advice on purpose, then. Or if they will not listen, good advice so they will do the opposite."

Lee thought about that one. "So, bullshit them just for fun, huh? That might be an option."

"Not all the time. Then they will catch on." Lola smiled a little wickedly. "But I think some bullshit is in order, ja?"

"I just wish I'd thought of doing that sooner," he said, frowning briefly before brightening again. "You should have come here sooner! I could have been bullshitting everyone!"

Lola laughed. "It is better late than not at all, ja?"

"Guess so," he said, nodding. "Because now I have time to do it before I graduate and all."

"You are a senior, then?"

"Yep," he said, nodding. "Graduating in May. No idea what comes after that."
