Fourth Floor Common Room; Saturday Evening.

His weekend, Cal decided, was just going to be full of new sorts of things, and he decided to stop being lazy in his room and go down to the common room to be lazy there. The common room had the added benefit of television, and he realized that he really hadn't bothered watching much modern TV.

...After a little while of flipping through the channels (after another while of trying to figure out the remote), Cal understood why he hadn't bothered. It was a weekend of new things, but he decided that watching TV wasn't one of them, and he soon turned it off, leaving for his room and coming back with a book and his script for the play to just do some good old reading.

The fifth floor was out of the cereal Romeo favored, so he made the oh-so-lengthy trek down the stairs to see if it was in stock on four.

He glanced around the quiet common room, taking a moment to realize what seemed odd to him. "The television is off," he announced to Cal.

Somehow, this passed for a greeting in his head.

"I know," Cal stated, and then held up his book for Romeo to see. "I'm trying this crazy new thing, it's called reading. You should check it out; it's a real trip."

Romeo squinted at the book, swallowing his grin. "So those strange markings on the page talk to you? I've not heard of this; explain."

He located the cereal and poured it into a bowl.

Temari nodded toward the boy she hadn't met yet.

Romeo matched the nod, adding a smile. "Hello, are you new?"

He wasn't always the best at getting out.

Amber poked her head in looking for a particlar someone and when she saw that particular someone, she grinned and skipped on over to him, plopping down right beside him. "Hi."

And how could Cal respond to that with anything other than a grin as he shifted his attention from the script toward Amber and greeted her back. "Hey."

She glanced at the script. "It's Saturday night, why're you studying?"

Romeo waved slightly to Amber. "Good evening, it's been a while."

"Hey, Romeo. How're you doing?"

"Reading again?" Temari asked, walking into the room to look for something palatable to eat.

"I like reading," Cal answered, figuring that was a good enough response as any and, besides, his attention was put more into peering over the top of his book at Fanbutt in a very displeased fashion.

She wasn't looking back. "Is there a problem, Sparkles? Other than dating a pre-teen boy?"

"Temari-san," Hinata said, with a little bow of her head. "I t-trust you've b-been well?"

"Stop stuttering." It was an automatic and mostly idle response to the question."

Her entrance was heralded by the white kitten that darted into the room before her, but she smiled, though rather nervously when she noticed everyone else already there.

"G-Good evening," she said.

Cal was pleased for an interruption if it came in the form of a cute kitten to watch, and then his eyes drifted toward the owner with a small smile. "Hey, Hinata. How's it going?"

Yei was of the opinion that she was far more than just cute but was pleased to see him as much as she was pleased to see anyone. With demanding for pettings and scritches.

"Q-Quietly." She grinned a bit. "So, w-well enough all t-things considered. A-And you? Have y-you been well?"

"Aww," Amber said when she saw the kitten. "How adorable! Hi," she said to Hinata.

Oooooh, person she hadn't met yet. Yei wandered over to check out Amber's ankles curiously.

"G-Good evening," she said, smiling. "And I'm s-sure Yei, would a-agree with y-your assessment."

Romeo looked distinctly tentative as he waved at Hinata, trying to look as nonthreatening and I-am-so-not-a-pervert-like as possible. "Good evening."

She flushed a bit, remembering the last they'd talked, but managed a pleasant enough smile.

"A-And to you," she said. "I h-hope you've b-been well lately?"

Worf wandered into the room and gave the residents a nod as he took out a large bottle of prune juice to drink. "Would any one else like some?" he offered in a gruff and barely polite manner.

"You and your prune juice," Cal commented, faintly admiring as he shook his head at the offer. "And where the hell have you been hiding, Worf? I haven't seen you in ages."

"I have been exploring the new section of the island," Worf replied. "And I was briefly sucked into Earth's history where I spent some time as a gladiator."
