5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening

With Liir's help, the common room was transformed into a vivid party room. Purple streamers were hung, balloons in every color were tied around, some left loose to pop or kick like some people liked to do (not her, geeze), and HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO! was everywhere.

Music was going and Amber was adding finishing touches to the gift table; little shiny curly things in purple everywhere. Hopefully Ino liked purple. While she was doing that, Liir was busy in the kitchen, getting the food in order and her mouth was watering just smelling some of what he had cooked.

It was his sister's birthday! It wasn't as if Jeff was not going to show up.

Especially since it was on his floor.

He still managed to get lost for a lot of it, but somehow, he made it there in one piece.

Amber did not know this guy but yay for Ino and the people that loved her. "Hey," she greeted cheerfully. "Welcome to Ino's party!"

Jeff jumped. Women didn't tend to say things to him a lot, unless they were Turtle, or some kind of relative. "Thanks," he blurted, "I try to be in... places."

Oh, the jumping was odd. Surely she didn't scare him. "That ususally helps for party situations. Hi, I'm Amber Atkins," she said and extended her hand towards him.

Jeff stared at her hand. Oh. Shaking. Right. "Oh," he said, "Shaking. Right!" He laughed nervously and grabbed her hand. He proceeded to try and shake it as awkwardly as humanely possible. "...I'm Jeff!"

Jeff. Turtle's Jeff? Oh my god that explained a lot, seriously.

"Hi, Jeff, nice to meet you," she said and pulled her hand back. "I'm good friends with Turtle not to mention one of her employees. I've never seen you in the store."

"I like to be in places generally," Jeff blurted. "It would be a little odd if I was in the exact same place every day, and I've already got to be in the store when Turtle's there." How does that make sense, Jeffrey?!

At least she didn't have that many breasts.

"Yah, I get that," she grinned, because oddly she sort of did. "I have great sales. Tomorrow it will be socks again." Amber loved socks. Mm warm fuzzies.

"...Let's not talk about socks," Jeff said, cringing a little. "... Socks."

"You don't... like socks, Jeff?"

Jeff stuck his hands in his pockets. "No, I just think they're a risk," he said, in an attempt to sound conversational.

Amber stared at Jeff and tried to think about how that made sense.

"...A risk in what way, exactly?"

"Well," he said, get yourself out of that one, Jeffrey, "There are certain types of clothes you don't want to get caught in, you know, exclusively. Socks are chief offenders."

When she finally got that, she cracked up laughing. "Oooh, you mean like being naked in just your socks? I think that might be kind of cute." A beat. "I mean not you, to see you being cute like that, I mean," she waved her hand, "in general."
