5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening

With Liir's help, the common room was transformed into a vivid party room. Purple streamers were hung, balloons in every color were tied around, some left loose to pop or kick like some people liked to do (not her, geeze), and HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO! was everywhere.

Music was going and Amber was adding finishing touches to the gift table; little shiny curly things in purple everywhere. Hopefully Ino liked purple. While she was doing that, Liir was busy in the kitchen, getting the food in order and her mouth was watering just smelling some of what he had cooked.

"We're waiting for you to attack so we can," he pointed out.

"But it's pretty." Yes, that was why Ino hadn't tried it yet.

It was rather girly in Ichigo's opinion, but he was going to be nice for now. "It is, but it's going to go to waste if you don't."

"I'll think about it," she teased.

"You have to think about eating food?" he eyed her. "You're a teenager, you're supposed to grow. Unless you're lying about your age." A beat. "How old are you turning?"

"Fifteen," she said, smiling, "and yeah, I do have to think 'bout eating food."

"It's cake," he pointed out. "The only thing you need to think about is if you want to eat one slice or two."

That got a laugh. "You're not going to leave this alone, are you?"

"No, why should I?" he asked. "I need to have fun too."

"Oh, I see," she said loftily, "you're just trying to ruin my mood."

"Would I do that?" he asked, pretending to be insulted. "I come here bearing gifts and you accuse me of such cruel things."

"I know you," she reminded him. "You'd totally do such at thing."

"Not because I'm trying to ruin your mood," he argued. Just to entertain himself.

"You'd still ruin my mood though," she said, wrinkling her nose at him.

"You have no faith in me," he complained.

"I have faith in you," she said, "just not the slant on it that you'd like."

"Hmz," he eyed her. "Well, if you don't trust me, you can go poke other people who want your attention."

Big innocent eyes stared at him. "But I want to bug you."

A beat.

"And I do trust you."

"So I shouldn't have gotten you anything?" he asked. "You would have been happy just bugging me?"

"I'd bug you anyway," she said, tucking a strand of hair behind one ear, "though if you hadn't gotten me anything you'd have been bugged about that."

A beat.

"Since you did though..."

"Though what?" he eyed her suspiciously. "And that's why I got you something." Well part of the reason, it was the only one he was admitting to.

"It means I've got to find something else to bug you 'bout," she said impishly then, hopefully before he could really react to that, she went up and tried to kiss his cheek. "For the presents."

It would be a moment before he could react beside the slight flush which came too easily. "You're welcome," he mumbled in surprise.

She grinned at him. "I do trust you."

"Good. I'm a trustworthy guy," he said instantly, not sure why he was saying it, but it kept him from staring.
