5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening

With Liir's help, the common room was transformed into a vivid party room. Purple streamers were hung, balloons in every color were tied around, some left loose to pop or kick like some people liked to do (not her, geeze), and HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO! was everywhere.

Music was going and Amber was adding finishing touches to the gift table; little shiny curly things in purple everywhere. Hopefully Ino liked purple. While she was doing that, Liir was busy in the kitchen, getting the food in order and her mouth was watering just smelling some of what he had cooked.

"Beyond awesome sounds like kind of a lot," Chad observed, glad that she was having a good time.

"It totally is," she said, with a firm little nod. "And how're you on the awesome-scale?"

"About the same," Chad said, nodding slightly, although it might not have been a complete truth. He lifted up his hand, wrapped in bandages. "Neko-kun got a little argumentative this evening, but that's all. Been thinkin' about colleges, mostly."

Colleges were, like, the last thing Ino ever paid any thought to. Colleges, she knew, were bad because that meant people had to leave and she hated that.

"Why'd he do that?" she asked, frowning at the bandages. "And what would you take in college?"

Chad had never paid much attention to it, either, and probably wouldn't have it if it weren't for Teddy.

"He didn't like the hat I thought he could wear to the party," he explained, as far as the bandages were concerned. Then, he shrugged. "And I don't know yet. Music, probably."

Poor Prince Oscar.

"Maybe he'd have liked it better if you'd worn a hat too?" Ino suggested, feeling sorry for the cat. "You can take music in college?"

Chad was so not wearing a hat.

Besides, he always ended up snapping the strings on those things when he tried to put them on his head.

"Yeah," he nodded. "Study all the composers, musical theory, specialize in a particular instrument."

That sounded really boring to Ino, but well, he did like music.

"What about your modeling?" she asked curiously. "Are you still going to do that?"

"The idea," Chad said, nodding slightly, "is to let the modeling pay for the college. So I'll be doing both."

"That's pretty clever," she decided, thinking that though. "Busy though."

"I like busy, though," Chad said. "Keeps me from being bored."

"Totally know what you mean," she agreed. "I love having stuff to do all the time."

"It'll help keep my mind off the fact that Teddy'll be in space, too," Chad added, although he wasn't really sure if he should. He rubbed the back of his neck a little. Maybe the crowd was just making him more social than usual.

She went to try and hug him. "True enough," she conceded. "And you just know he'll want to hear 'bout everything you're getting up to."

Aw, Chad couldn't refuse birthday girl little sister hugs, and gladly took and returned one (carefully). He gave a soft grunt of amusement at Ino's statement. "The whole thing was his idea, college. He just wants to be a dork and come visit his collegiate boyfriend."

That got a laugh. "He'll be able to lord it about your campus that he's got you and they don't."

A close look would potentially reveal a faint blush under Chad's cheeks.

"You don't really think he would, do you?"

"I don't see why he wouldn't," she said brightly.

A beat.

"'Less you really objected to it, of course."

That just left Chad rubbing his head for a moment, trying to come to terms with this idea.

"But he doesn't do that here," he pointed out, eventually. "...Does he?"

"Honestly? I haven't seen him 'round for a good while," she admitted, "and it's not, it wouldn't be, like really obvious stuff. But there, I think."

"That is true," Chad said, thoughtfully. "He's actually have to, you know, get out there in order to lord anything. I hope they don't let him take too many comics with him into space, because then I'll never see him."

He was only half joking there.

She laughed, unable to help it. "I'm sure you could get his attention."
