The Gym, Saturday night

Brooke had gotten to the gym early, decking the place out in blue and gold balloons and streamers just for that extra school spirit feel, and setting up the rest of the place. There were plenty of ~~moddable~~ snacks set up on tables, and breakfast set to be delivered in the morning, and she'd stored extra sleeping bags, pillows and blankets against the wall for people to take if they needed some. And because Brooke was Brooke, there were some extra things set up for people to enjoy, because you couldn't just leave it at that.

Once she was finished, she headed to her room long enough to get ready, then came back down to the gym in her best Clothes Over Bro's pajamas to get the party started.

"Kurosaki-san," she said, smiling a bit as she looked up at him. "D-Did Ino-san talk you into this a-as well?"

She couldn't really imagine Ichigo being here otherwise.

He looked surprised, wondering if he was that obvious and he was not going to flail at her. "Yeah, she's annoying like that," he agreed, making a face.

That got a soft laugh. "And y-yet, it works, it seems."

"She fights dirty," he told her instantly. It was true, she totally had.

"Dirty?" Hinata sounded amused. "I s-should hope so c-considering she's a n-ninja."

He eyed her. "Isn't there some sort of ninja honour thing or something? You'd think so."

"Depends o-on the situation," she commented.

"Honour isn't something you just cast aside when it doesn't suit you," he said with a frown.

"N-No," she agreed, "but s-shinobi's honour is a f-fluid thing."

"Yeah, I don't think that's something I'm going to get," he replied, because fluid was just another word for casting it aside if you asked him. "Sorry."

She shrugged. "N-Nothing to apologize for, Kurosaki-san," Hinata told him. "O-Our worlds are d-different."

"Yeah, I'm getting that," he grinned at her. "How's the acting going?"

Hinata flushed a bit. "We a-are working on my v-volume at the m-moment."

He gave her an encouraging smile. "Someone's been helping you?"

"G-Geoffrey-san is," she said slowly. "T-Though I'm not a-always comfortable w-with the way h-he tries."

"Why not?" he asked. "You should tell him."

"S-Sometimes it's almost a-as if he wants m-me to change overnight a-and that I c-chose to d-do this..." she shrugged uncomfortably. "He m-means well though."

"If it makes you uncomfortable it doesn't matter how he means it," Ichigo told her.

She looked startled, then thoughtful. "I h-hadn't thought of it t-that way..."

"Well, he wants to help you," Ichigo reasoned. "That means you need to be comfortable with it so if he pushes, it's not going to help much."

"N-Not many feel that that's t-the way teachers are," she noted.

"Yeah, but you can't rush everything," he pointed out.

"I k-know," she said, smiling. "And I h-have improved."

He smiled. "Good, but you can still punch him if he overdoes it." Yes, she just gotten his permission.

Oddly enough, it made her feel better.

"I will k-keep that in mind if I need to," she promised.
