The Gym, Saturday night

Brooke had gotten to the gym early, decking the place out in blue and gold balloons and streamers just for that extra school spirit feel, and setting up the rest of the place. There were plenty of ~~moddable~~ snacks set up on tables, and breakfast set to be delivered in the morning, and she'd stored extra sleeping bags, pillows and blankets against the wall for people to take if they needed some. And because Brooke was Brooke, there were some extra things set up for people to enjoy, because you couldn't just leave it at that.

Once she was finished, she headed to her room long enough to get ready, then came back down to the gym in her best Clothes Over Bro's pajamas to get the party started.

Well. She wouldn't say that he liked being surprised, just that she found his reactions funny...

"I don't think you'd say no to a pretty girl wanting a kiss."

"You know me too well," he said and laughed. "I wouldn't say no. I'm a pretty easy kind of guy that way."

Ino grinned. "Nothin' wrong with that as long as it's clear from the start, yeah? No letting other people get the wrong idea."

"Yep," he said and nodded. "While I may be easy, I am a gentlemen. None of that pressure-y stuff for me. I'm a modern day white knight."

"And that's why you don't get the stuffing beaten out of you for being easy," she said, nodding. "Because it's all up front."

"I do keep some secrets though," he said, lowering his voice. "But they're not bad."

She contemplated that. "Sometimes secrets are good," Ino mused, tilting her head inquiringly.

"Long as they don't hurt people, right?" Hannibal asked.

"Just so," she agreed. "And 'long as you can carry them without hurting yourself too."

"Well, this one's not to bad," he said and laughed. "It's just a thing that's there."

"You've got me curious now, geez," she said lightly.

"How curious?" he asked, smiling at her.

"Curious enough to want to pry, but not so curious that I'm going to 'less you feel like talking."

Sometimes, honesty was a good thing.

"Here's a hint," he said and leaned a little closer. "I have a crush on someone."

"Oooooh," Ino said, thinking hard. "Alice? Didn't radio say you guys went out once or something?"

A beat.

"...or should I not be guessing?"

"I like Alice, yeah," he said and grinned. "But no, she's not the crush. I don't mind if you guess. I just might not admit it even if you guess right."

She contemplated that.

"Is it a girl? Or a boy?" You did have to check that here.

"It's a girl," he said and laughed. "The boys aren't bad but no, no crushes."

"I like the boys here a lot," she said, giggling. "Um... Amber?"

Because everyone liked Amber, it seemed. Ugh.

"I like Amber but we're just friends," he said and smiled. "So, nope."

"Everybody likes her," she muttered, half under her breath. "Um... let's see," looking around the room, "Brooke? Ella? Angela?"

"She's just a friend," he said and then said, "Not any of those either."

Except yeah, he was a liar face.

She eyed him dubiously.

"What's that look for?" he asked, making a face back at her.

"Your face changed," she informed him, contemplating the girls she'd named there.
