fandomhighdorms | Ground Floor, Rec Room [Thursday, Evening]

Angela took herself down to the rec room early for party preparations. She'd had an offer of willing help, but also recruited some girl with streaks of pink hair from across the hall to help her bring things down just in case. The other girl's protests that she was pretty sure she had no idea who this guy was fell on deaf ears.

By the time evening came, the common room was all decked out in a bunch of bright balloons, a couple of 'Happy Birthday Hannibal!' posters, and some artsy-looking homemade streamers. She may have mixed in some interesting Cosmo article titles with the normal paper when she was making them. Keep an eye out for those if you're into extra reading material.

The music is going, food is out, and near the door is a tub of ~~completely moddable~~ party hats. Birthday boy wanted hats, he was going to get hats. People who don't take one, run the risk of being pounced and having one forced on them (tactics may vary depending on how well she knows said people and her sugar intake).

"I'll remember you prefer asking instead of ordering," he teased back. "I won't order you to cook for me or anything."

"You'll probably be glad of that later," Angela said, spreading her arms for that hug she was asked for. "I'm not really much of a chef."

"I'd eat whatever you made," he said and stepped forward for his hug.

Angela laughed again as she slipped her arms around him. "You might regret saying that one day," she said.

"No, I don't think I won't," he said quietly, still hugging her.

"I'll try and make that the case," Angela said loosening her grip on him after a moment. "But I can't make any promises."

"Such little confidence in yourself," he said.

"You must be one of very few people to believe I actually have a lack of confidence," Angela said.

"In the area of cooking," he clarified. "That's where you lack confidence."

"I can cook," she said. "And I haven't yet burned my Dad's house down. I think I should get points for that."

"Mmm, your dad," he said. "Is he making an appearance this weekend?"

"As far as I know?" Angela nodded. "So that'll be fun," she wryly.

"Does he know about the boy roommate?" he asked.

"He will soon," Angela said. "But he's... pretty easy with these things, so I don't think it'll bother him all that much." Or, you know, maybe just a little bit less than the average father.

"I'll be good," he promised. "Even wear a suit and tie, if it helps. And I've only got a friend coming so he won't be able to have a parental pow wow with my mom or dad."

"Suit and tie probably won't help," Angela admitted. "But I'm sure it'll be fine anyway."

"Who's this friend you've got coming along, then?"

"Friend of mine from back home," he told her. "Name's Abigail. Old friend. Good friend."

"Friend with embarrassing stories to tell?" Angela asked, arching a curious eyebrow.

"...no," he said, shaking his head. "None like that at all!"

Angela narrowed her eyes skeptically. "Somehow, I don't believe you," she teased.

"Well..." He had no good reply to that except to stick his tongue out at her.

"This weekend might not be so bad," she decided with a smirk.

"I'll just hide her away from you," he said and smirked right back.

Angela grinned. "You can try."

"I vow to succeed!" he exclaimed.
