The punching bags were back, and Hoshi was already taking a few punches at one as she waited for everyone else. "Welcome back. I hope you guys had a better weekend than I did," said Hoshi with a frown.

"The best way to stay safe is to avoid situations where you might run into trouble, like areas with poor lighting or trying to walk home after dark by yourselves. And, for goodness sake, when the island gets invaded, you're better off staying in your safe location than taking a chance on the streets," said Hoshi, making eye contact with everyone in turn.

"That said, if you do run into trouble, you should aim to disable your opponent by striking certain points on the body, which are listed on the handout that I'll pass around," she continued. "Keep in mind that this should only be for self-defense. You shouldn't go around hitting people. We don't have any dummies to practice on today, so we'll be using the punching bags instead."

"And it's not like I have to leave tomorrow or anything," said Hoshi. "I'll still be here for spring break, the prom, and all that other fun stuff."

"Then you totally shouldn't worry about it now," Amber smiled. "You're definitely here for all the good stuff."

"Yeah," said Hoshi. "It feels weird, but I have time to get used to it."

"Well, in the meantime maybe you can contact your boi," she grinned, "and tell him how you feel. Lay it on the line, you know?"

"Maybe," said Hoshi with a smile. "Nothing to lose, right?"

"Exactly. Just lay it on the line and see what he has to say."

"Maybe I'll do that," said Hoshi.

"You'll keep me updated?"

"Oh, I will," said Hoshi. "Good little communications officer, right?"

Amber snorted. "That's right. And we can discuss it over drinks at Caritas. Been awhile since I've had a girls night out."

"That sounds like a great idea. I haven't had one of those in a while either," said Hoshi with a grin.

"What day works for you?"

"Tuesday's good, but Wednesday's better," said Hoshi.

"Mmm, another day besides Wednesday ~~because mun's other pup works Caritas~~?"

"How about tomorrow, then?" said Hoshi.

"Tomrrow will be perfect. You want to just meet up there say around eightish?"

"That would be great," said Hoshi.

"Cool," Amber grinned and went back to beating the crap out of her bag.
