Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

The fifth-floor common room had been transformed into a riot of color and sound by the two intrepid decorators. When you had Rikku and Dōjima doing the artistic design, and they were basing it off of Romeo's collection of loud shirts, it was bound to be, ah, creative.

There were balloons and streamers everywhere, and the party even had some piñatas full of candy for people to swing at. Simply because everyone (Rikku) liked candy, and Dōjima was a fan of party games that made other people look like idiots.

"Could be that," Reno chuckled. "But I'm pretty sure it's somethin' more than that. I got potions. I ain't worried about my spleen."

He leaned down to snag a light kiss.

"How you doin', Rikku?"

"I'm goooooood," she said, returning the kiss with one of her own. What? It was only polite. "I have the paper to throw together tomorrow, and I talked to Tyler about science-fair stuff? And I got a book on history here, because of the election, and it's really interesting. How are you?"

"Ain't bad," Reno said, and then he grinned and bounced a little. "Ghanima's gonna take my trainin' to the next level. I just gotta... uh. Meditate better."

It would be a challenge. Reno liked a challenge.

"You should drop by work," Rikku offered. "Cable is really good at meditation-things. He's there on Thursdays. He even got me to meditate, and I didn't think I'd be able to sit still long enough. Plus if you're in the Meditation Room, that kinda means you're already in the right mindset, yeah?"

"Just walkin' into the room puts you in the right mindset?" Reno raised an eyebrow. "Must be one hell of a room," he mused.

"It's all Zen," she said. "The decorations and just the feel of it, you know? It's a really relaxing kinda space. And then you kinda go, okay, I'm in the Meditation Room, not the Pick-At-My-Toes Room or the I-Wonder-What-I-Want-For-Dinner Room, and that kinda makes your head go, okay, let's get serious about this, instead of dorking off."

She shrugged. "You could ask Cable. He's really good at talking people through it."

Reno considered this for a moment, and then he nodded.

"Ghanima's teachin' me to meditate, too, but I could probably use all the help I can get, zoto. Gonna have to talk to Cable sometime, I guess. See if he can gimmie a hand."

Reno really, really wasn't the meditative type.

"Thursdays," she said, helpfully. "That's when he's in the store. I'm sure he wouldn't mind. He likes it when people meditate. Unlike the guns part, which he kinda doesn't usually let me sell. In fact, I'm not sure if he sells them, either."

It made for an interesting sort of gun store.
